MyAudi.com Map Update

If you need to pay for it then it will cost. I'd was quoted around £200 for the update.
You could buy a TomTom with Lifetime updates for that sort of price.

Was that just the one update ?

I was speaking to guy from Audi connect. He said the car had had its quota of 5 updates. He said to get the 2017 maps it would be around the £200 mark. I can't remember the exact cost but it was enough to make me say sod that. It might of been nearer £300.

Hi All, does anybody else get this login prompt/error when trying to download the map to an SD card?
I've never come across this and it's always worked fine before.

I've only ever downloaded 1 update which was early last year.

Hmm never seen that before mate - are you Mac or PC ? Try saving to hard drive destination then copying to SD when the download is complete.

I'm using Windows 10
Actually I am trying to save to HDD first instead of SD card, maybe I'll give it a go later the other way round.

Tried installing directly to SD card however getting same problem, anyone else experiencing this where it asks you for a proxy-username login and password?
Anyone successfully done a map update using Windows 10?
I'm sure it worked fine before using Windows 7

I just re-entered the myAudi username and password again and it started downloading (Windows 10)

My car was purchased 31 July 2014 so the 2017 map update was my last free one. I've no idea of the cost for further updates but I doubt that I'll be doing them anytime soon. Unless it's possible to "borrow" the data from another member who has the latest map ..........

Mines 2o14 too. It's def over 200 for an update. It's something I'll probably do in a few years time. Unless there isn't another way?

I have it on good authority that even with the SD card it won't upload to the car ;o(

Thanks for the notice!

It does however bring around a small realisation of how sad I am at times... I will be genuinely excited and happy if this map has the new M6 Junc 34 as it does my slight OCD tendencies in when I drive on it and the sat nav shows me plowing through fields and through walls until it's happy I'm on the old part of the M6. Very sad of me indeed.

LoL completely understandable I lived in a field according to the maps until the 3rd update captured our estate :tearsofjoy:

How many free updates do you get? (Three rings a bell, but I'm not sure)

PFL is 5 with tech pack high but you can't choose which 5 you have so good for up to 3 years. Updates are May and November.

The map shows me living in a field. I was most upset until I realised that I do indeed live in a field!

Why do Audi insist on using Java :( I Thought it wasn't working but it was because I was using Chrome. I switched to Edge and it now works

...... thinking about it I've now had 6 as my car arrived in March 2015 with old maps on so I updated them immediately then every May and November since.

Is there any way to check whether your car has the latest maps without fully downloading the update, only just taken delivery of mine but when I was adding POI's yesterday I noticed the option of a map update on my Audi.

Do you ever get a notification in your car telling you to update your maps?

What is the cost of the map updates for those of us who do not have the Technology Pack and only have Navigation because it's comes as standard.

With my TomTom 6100 I get four map updates a year free for life. On my older TomTom XL I get four updates a year for £54.

Just completed the update and I'm delighted to confirm the M6/M1/A14 junction has been updated - I'm sad too, but happy :)

My car registered Dec 2014 and the 2017/18 update is there for me. Guessing the last one I can get.

Tried to do an OTA update while stuck in central London traffic today... car would not do it. Tested via internal SIM and my own 3 SIM. I ended up doing the 16GB update, every country, from an SD card which took about 30mins to complete:

Before:

IMG 8456 squashed IMG 8457 squashed

After:

IMG 8487 squashed IMG 8488 squashed

SD Card based Navigation? You will need to buy a new card and have it activated, £400 to £500 from Audi.

I'm downloading every country which is 20.7GB, how long does it take to transfer everything to car?
Mine is tech pack with the higher resolution.

Why is yours 16GB and my download says 20.7GB, for 2017-2018 newest one today.

On that basis and as I don't use a Sat/Nav that often I think I'll stick to my free for one and £54 for the other from TomTom. I mainly use the older TomTom for speed cameras and this I can update on a regular basic using the very up-to-date PGPSW database. This one is mounted on the RH end of my screen and is always there. The 6100 lives in the glovebox and I have a centre Brodit powered mount between the air vents. I only use this if I am going on a longer journey, to Germany for example, mainly to tell me about traffic holdups. All the map updates for this model, are free four times a year using it's built-in SIM card.

I didn't have the Audi Navigation on any of my previous A3s and only have it on my current one because it came as standard.

Might be wrong but just the SD Card maps are around £150-£200. The £400-£500 figure is usually maps plus the activation of the cars Sat Nav system if it didnt come with sat nav activated from factory. I know this info is correct for PFL but if i read correctly then it seems Sat Nav is standard with FL? so therefore would only need the maps...

No idea. Mine is the FL MMI4Gplus version 2, registered 9th December which came supplied with 2017 maps. Maybe your navigation data is older and needs more of an update...
