S5 S/B order subject to MY 17/18 production delays

I finally ordered a S5 S/B a week ago having been told back in March if I ordered then they could get me a Wk 21 build slot (end May). Now one month later they are saying because of the MY change at the end of June my order has been given a wk 28 build week. The dealer is trying to do a swap for an earlier build slot but hasn't had any success.
Anyone else had this experience and if so did the date came forward in the end? I need the car in June / early July ideally.
 
I've now got an email from yourAudi confirming my order and build week 28. How long is to before this gets confirmed or updated?
Dealer says 90% of orders get built +/- 2 wks of the build week, but that's too late for me.
 
I've ordered a lease through a broker back in march, estimated delivery late may/early June. Recently it's been updated to July in the UK, delivery 2-౩ weeks later. Bet i don't see it till September.
 
Yes, that sounds like I was quoted in March but now its gone out 7 wks due to MY change which doesn't affect S5.
After build allow 3 weeks for shipping to dealer. Your lease company shouldn't cause a delay.
 
My order status has now changed to Preparation phase. How long is it before Production starts, anyone?
 
Anyone care to comment on the production phase, I think its 2 weeks before production starts?
 
Sorry no idea, but I got my first update from my broker on Tuesday saying the dealer predicts the car will be with them early July.
I don't have an order number to track ( don't want one as I would checking it all the time!) but assume the update on Tuesday aligns with the preparation phase you're seeing on your order?
 
Yours and mine seem to be due for build about the same time then, build w/c 29th May then 4 weeks for shipping as it can sit at Emden for 2 wks waiting for space on a boat.
As a matter of interest what's your lease deal?

It's not one of the great lease deals, I missed them.
It's £421 month, 6+23, 10k, only options I wanted were flat bottom wheel and privacy glass. I'm happy with it though, just I fell for the estimated delivery was end of may, when it's obvious it was never going to happen.
 
I will be paying a lot more than that for my 2yr 10k lease deal. I'm actually a bit embarrassed to say the figures.

What were the best deals available at the start and which broker?

I got a email last week informing me of a unconfirmed build week 27. I ordered it mid April.

I think the best deals were around 11k for the 2yr term, even with a few options.
I went with fleet sauce, but a few brokers were all very close on price.

£421 a month is only a little over £10k over the course of 2 years? Was that a personal lease deal?

I'm paying £499 a month for 2 years with only VC.

Don't forget the 6x initial takes it to 12400ish I think.
Yes personal lease, Inc vat etc.
 
I factored that in. My grand total for a personal lease is £12k for the duration.
Its still a lot cheaper than what my local Audi dealership offered me on PCP. I would have changed it after 2-3 years anyways.

Your total about the same as mine, so you're not on a bad deal then.
I wouldn't be interested in keeping it after 2 years, so PCH made more sense than PCP for me.
 
My PCP is 2k down and 450 p.m. that works out over 12k after 2 yrs, its a 3 yr PCP
My spec is Nav Blue met., VC, B&O, Turbine wheels, Carbon inserts, Folding Mirrors, Hill HA.
 
Has know whats going on with Your Audi as its been down for last week?
My dealer says my car is at port of exit, how long before delivery?
 
I'm in the same situation. yourAudi down for maintenance over a week ago, absolutely ridiculous, an IT maintenance shouldn't take this long.
My car is in transit for almost 2 weeks ago now, and the best I could get out from my dealer yesterday is that the car is still waiting in the port of Emden for the ship. That was the same for almost a week ago now. There you go with the "...there is a ship leaving full of Audis every other day..." crap they say on the video.

Others are talking about 2 week ish delivery times from Germany to the dealer, some others are saying it took 1 month for their car to arrive to the dealer from the UK port alone, so anybodies guess until it arrives really.
 
It used to be up to 2 weeks sitting at the port of exit, 24 hrs ferry from Germany then a week for the logistics company to put it on a transporter going your dealer's way. So its about 2 wks if you're lucky.
 
Mine was sitting at Emden for two weeks, arrived in the UK on the 24th May and is finally being delivered to the dealership early next week. They need a week to do their checks and have given me a collection date of 16th June. Almost there now!
 
Your Audi shows mine is finally on its way to UK port. I'm guessing is it about 10 days from delivery?
 
Mine changed status saying on it way to the UK on Saturday and today my dealer told me that its already in the UK waiting for the last leg of the journey. He also told me this shouldn't take more than 10 days, but its usually faster, so fingers cross, no later than next week!
 
Seems our's were probably on the same boat. I've not heard from my dealer so keep me posted with any updates.

Nothing from my broker, but I'll be phoning up if you guys get yours and I've not heard anything.
 
Once its at the port it depends on the logistics company how buys they are when your dealer gets it. Its a slack time now after the March craziness so Im saying 1 week then they've got to arrange to PDI it.
 
Mine's landed in the UK! Dealer says it should be with them by early next week latest so looking like a pick up late next week!!
 
Dunders, your spec is very similar to mine except it's an S4. Mine has the grey trim.

Looks like I have some phone calls to make in the morning (I've got a 2 week window now before I get desperate!)
 
Let's see, I will try an get some photos. I won't be taking delivery until end of next week so will ask them to do all the software updates.

My S5 Sportback has gone in to production a week early. Website is saying 'Panel Shop' .... just me getting excited. From your experiences here on the forum when do you think I will have it?
 
Once it production is complete it usually shows at port of exit as the rail service to Emden is very quick, less than 24hrs.
Mine took 3 weeks from that stage to arrive at the dealers. The worst wait is it sits at the port of exit for 2 wks or more.
 
Mine went to production a week early too, 5 days later it showed "Quality Control" and it stayed there for almost 4 weeks... Later they told me it took so long, because I had too much extras? Weak explanation if you ask me, since the S5 has a lot of extras in anyway.

Got mine in transit since the 20th of May and so far its already in the UK, hopefully on the way to the dealer, but its possible its still sitting in the dock waiting for the trailer. I should get it next week.

Hopefully yours going to be much quicker, but from the start of production mine already nearing 2 months...
 
What options have you got that led to the delay, has it got Pano roof as this often causes delay?
 
Well no, thats something I actually wont have. It is still easier to tell what I did NOT ordered:
- Sunroof, storage pack, towbar, phonebox
Rest is fully "maxed out"

As for the delay, I dont think just because it has many options that would delay the shipping...
 
Once its built the shipping wont cause a delay. What does you dealer say, it must be at the dealer by now?
Is it a lease or are you buying direct?
 
Im buying from the dealer. I'll go there tomorrow to sign the finance papers, so I'll see what he can say.
