Facelift S3 Oil Type?

What type of oil do I need for my S3 FL? It looks like fixed servicing as it nearing 9000 miles and says it needs changed soon. As far as I can tell its 502.00 which I think would be 5W40 if I were to go for Castrol Edge Titanium? Is that correct?

Incidentally I did try searching by putting the word "Oil" as the search, and making it "Titles Only" and "This Forum Only" and it returned hundreds of results with none of them containing the word "Oil"!

@Gazwould knows his oil.

Had 3 oil changes now and always use Castrol Edge Professional Long Life III 5W-30.

Look for VW 504 00/507 00 on the packaging.

I use millers 5w40 nanodrive well the best in my opinion oil temperature stays a lot lower an engine is a lot quieter than when I used castrol

It's a lesser spec medium quality 502.00 505.01 .

Asda do a 5 litre 5w30 fully synthetic for half price when I bought it £13. It's vw 504 00/507 00.
