Engine carbon clean.. Recommended!!!

Hi guys it's simon here from Engine carbon clean thanks for the positive feedback guys I'm a fellow a3 owner and a big Audi fan too -
If any of you have any questions feel free to ask me - sceptics welcome too - I'm also hoping to attend the meet on Sunday too
Do you have any before and after pics of the valve stems.

I'd also be very interested in seeing this. I'm getting it done regardless but have yet to see any before and after pictures of the hydrogen method of engine carbon cleaning.

Another good review! Simon passed me onto the right man to speak to, looking forward to getting mine done tomorrow hoping it will make it a little more responsive as I feel like my car is a little laggy

Carbon clean sorted, ran it though for 45 mins, gave it a good Rev every ten mins and here's the video of the sh1t that comes out the back, my brothers 1.9tdi caddy threw out a lot of smoke too, car feels less lumpy, I still feel like the cars lacking power but maybe I've just got used to it!

Had my 140PD TDI carbon cleaned this afternoon. The car does respond better to throttle, feels more alive and smoother. Surprisingly also sounds better when accelerating.
Yesterday night tested the power output with Torque app and a bluetooth adapter. Went for a drive this evening too.

Max bhp last night: 163
Max bhp tonight: 174

Had mine done this morning by Paul the Somerset Carbon Clean Engineer, very polite and professional chap and knew his job for sure, I had a very tiny flat spot when pulling away quietly in 1st gear and I'm pretty sure this has now gone since the clean and car definitely feels better although this could all be in my head too...
Whether it's the placebo effect or not, I would still recommend it..

Would of been £50 if local but £65 as he travelled to me (manchester)

£99 seems the going rate

Any bother on S3's? Or just for dervs really?

Mines an S3. I have noticed little bit better acceleration low down. Just seems bit more responsive. Wants to go more. Only little tho

With the S3 8P's BHZ & CDLA TFSI engines being direct injection, they suffer from carbon build up and so will benefit from an engine carbon clean. It's no substitute for an inlet off, hands on decoke though such as walnut blasting or scrubbing, however it's the next best thing if you can't afford a proper decoke.

I paid £99 but Paul did say that he would've done 2 for £150..

Who was this? Looking to do mine soon. Can you provide his contact details.. the cheapest I've seen around Manchester.

Thanks

If you search ecr carbon clean cheshire on facebook. Its on there bud

Sorry for the thread revival,

But I wonder if its worth trying to set up a group buy on this, and possibly look at a discount, especially if it takes sub 1 hour per car.

Thoughts - @SimonEcc

Doubt they would do anything as they already offer multicar discount.
The one I used which is engine carbon clean Yorkshire are currently doing one car for £100 or 2 for £150 so can't see them doing it even cheaper than that

terrawanking is a complete scam . dont waste your money for the placebo effect!

Hi know a few threads on this, but is it confirmed engined carbon clean is better than terrwclean? especially for petrol TFSI engines

There both not good for tfsi. I had the carbon clean. Then went to rtech for the proper inlet clean and the inlets were caked

Yes the R-Tech walnut blast by Marcus is amazing. You get to see the before and after. Looks like brand new.

I had an EDT engine detox thing done with my last service and MOT and it improved my MPG from 27 to 30 and it runs smoother for sure.

S3 8P that is

Did anyone bother to ask where all the carbon ends up after a terraclean? I know that for the walnut media blasting the valves are closed one cylinder at a time and all the crud is removed by hand so it doesn't end up in the engine.

Had this done before christmas on my 08 S3

Here are the before pics

After pics

I only found out that engine carbon cleaning was a thing last week. I was reading up about carbon cleaning on this and other forums and decided to give it a go. Adrian from Engine Carbon Clean came and cleaned my Audi A3 today (but I really want a new A5 Sportback black edition - have to stick with the A3 in the meantime), and it has really made a difference to the car - it's much smoother to drive now, no flat spots in acceleration and even feels like it has restored some power.

Best money I've spent - sometimes it's worth taking a chance on something new I guess!

I read through all these posts yesterday and decided to get mine done too.
Booked in for monday morning, so I'm pleased there are so many positive reviews.
