Wheel thudding sound 10mph - 23mph

Odd one, think I am close to cracking it but worth a quick ask on here trying to confirm if tyres/wheel or Bearing.
So for a few months now I am hearing a 'thud thud thud' when driving between 10 and 23mph, sound is clearly from the rear wheel area.

Ordered 4 new tyres, tyre fitter agreed to change the front 2 due to a badly warn sidewall on one up front, but said 'I would be insane to change the rears, there's nothing wrong with them' which in fairness to him, visibly they have allot of life left, no flat spots, no buckling/cracks in the wheel, evenly warn in terms of matching camber each side but good tread.
Had the tracking checked and toe adjusted slightly... left with noise still there.. fudge sake

Sooo.. yesterday morning I had an hour spare and swapped the rear wheels to my standards.. and noise is gone however occasionally 'i thought' i maybe heard it again but wasnt sure if in my head as I would listen harder and hear nothing... plus the sound of 2 spare tyres rubbing against my rear wheels on the back seat was making some fair noise.
Not ruling out wheel bearing yet, as potentially the et35 on my normal wheels would put more pressure on the bearing making it more audible, and the et43 of my standards may lesson this #(maybe i did hear it occasionally?) (friends suggested this and i think it sounds entirely plausible)

So to fully determine if it is wheel/tyre or wheels bearing, need to order some longer bolts to put my spacers on with my standards to see if the noise comes back right?!
Although i thought wheel bearing would be audible through any speed and not disapear over 23mph..

Any suggestions welcome

so is the noise gone now youve swapped out the rear wheels, iv heard of tyres seperating inside so they look totaly fine from the outside but make noise as the rubber flaps about inside

doesnt sound like a wheel bearing i had 2 go and they were both exactly the same droning noise that increased as the bearing got worse, doesnt mean it isnt though

Sinceraly hope you are correct, I have 7 days to confirm if it is tyre as I can still return these 2 within 14 days and get some money back.. but tyres are much cheaper than a bearing!!

is it a constant thud or random if its tyre or wheel related id guess it would be a steady sound as the wheel rotates, could possibly be an anti roll bar bush, linkage, top mount etc if its a random thud ?

No it is very consistent which is why i have thought tyre more than bearing or bushing. will put the 20mm spacers on the back and be 100% the noise is still gone, then just go back to the fitter and explain I have ruled the rest out.
I really need a second set of spacers for the front #BigButtNoTits

LAMBDA sensor
Battery
Smoking(fixed by a decent remap)
Wheel speed sensor
weird thuddy noise (tyre we hope)

I had this on my a4. Rear tires. Chucked new ones on and it went away.
Thudding like I had a kidnapped man in the boot at low speed and droned on the motorway like a wheel bearing.

He must of jumped out when you was changing the tyres!

20mm spacers on with the standards to increase the offset simular to my other wheels, and thudding didn't come bk.. Gonna keep the 2 new tyres and ask the fitter to fit them regardless of how insane that makes me.
Ruled out the rest, it's something on them rear wheels

Pretty sure everyone working at Michel dever was under it checking at some point lol
But they never removed the rear wheels, only spun and checked around it.
I gave them a good look over off the car at home, and couldn't see any buldges, odd wear, marks on the tyres, nor any flat spots, cracks or misshaping of the alloys, or any apparent missing weights but I recon its inside the tyre that has the dust cap rusted stuck on..
Will take it to michel dever again and just ask them to pop it on the weight machine and figure out which one and maybe swap tyres to the new ones.
But this weekend car is going bk to people who Fitted the new clutch as since I got it bk steering and suspension is clanking like mad

I had this recently. Turns out my tyres were 'stepped' and I could feel lumps around the inside shoulder of the tyre. Caused by incorrectly inflated tyres apparantly. Got all four changed and the noise disappeared.
