Black Edition or Standard S3 Saloon

Yeah, the finance contribution is rather small on the Saloon though I believe, around £500-£600, better than a kick is the *** though I suppose.

Wanted to place my order today, but I am inbetweeen the quarterly change over for deposit contributions. My sales advisor seems to think the have cut all contribtions on the s3... ?? Hopefully not, on the Audi web site it still states £600 down from £800. I am expecting a phone call tomorrow to state if a contribution can be applied to my deal. I hope this Isnt the case as I would of sealed the deal soon if I was informed, any info would be great. Cheers
Just been thinking about this and I'm sure the deposit contribution a few weeks back was £800 (as my order form) on the BE and only £600 on the standard S3. If I'm correct, when I do the new order form for the Yellow Taxi tomorrow it will only have £600 dep contribution unless the finance stays as is which I doubt!!

Yes the deposit contribution was £800 last week. And now states online that it's £600. But now my sales advisor has got a clue if it even exists on a s3 saloon as he reckons they've pulled the plug. What a load of B*****ks

Was it £800 on the standard S3 saloon or just the BE? I'm pretty sure your sale guy is wrong and the contribution is available till July.

Im really not sure as I have only spec'd BE. I hope he's talking nonsense, we will find out tomorrow, as he is finding out what the new contribution is for the second quarter

Sorry l forgot to ask him mate l will text him just what's the exact model your buying?
It's a s3 saloon BE, any difference is deposit contributions in your neck of the woods ???

I've just had my order confirmation over from changing to a standard S3 from BE and it still shows £800 dep contribution so both must have been £800 up until April 1st when it was reduced to £600

You get the same discount whether on finance or on the Johnny Cash

Unfortunately it's not...it should be, but for Audi at least it isn't. As Tom says, this is clearly shown in all the broker websites.

So in effect a bigger discount if you take finance and then settle it after a month or so.

Yes that is a way to get the finance contribution, without taking the finance out. Just don't expect a bottle of the bubbly from your dealer...!

Brokers may well be different but walk into the showroom my son works in you'll find you'll get the same discount for cash, that's if you even ask for a discount, my son sells a lot of cars without!!!!!!

Wish your son worked at my local dealerships then, since not a single one has offered me the contribution when buying in cash...!

It amazes me how many people walk in and just base it on a monthly figure or just pay list price and seem thrilled at the dealer contribution for finance. When I went in to buy my S3 they asked me what I wanted to pay per month, as little as possible is my standard reply. I find doing some home work on discounts and trade in values is a good way to start as is using the online finance calculators to work out monthly figures which helps to know when you have reached a good deal. Paying cash without a trade in makes it even easier as it leaves less scope for the sales guy to baffle with figures and hide numbers

Some people just don't care about the money, the bird who dealt with my sale said she sold a Q5 or Q7 (forget which now) bloke didn't ask for any discount and had a decent spec too!

Tom.H did you use carwow for your discount or did you go to Maidstone Audi first?

Carwow then went to Hitchin as Bedford annoyed me by not letting me have an extended test drive after telling me I could.

Ok then did you just show Hitchin Audi the carwow quote and they matched it? Do you think its possible they beat the carwow quote?

Yep, that's it - I may have been lucky though because some dealers won't match it. TBH it was 11.1%, you'd do well to get a dealer to beat it, some may have got slightly more but you're at the top end of what they're going to offer there anyway.

my car wow quote was 7.9 % ! albeit I've changed my spec a little now, but its up to 11%.

From experience I found the carwow quote to be ok but not the most competitive. When I spoke to my local dealer who I bought my A6 off they were not willing to discount the S3 even though I had a carwow quote from them. When I hold them I had a quote they said carwow was to attract new buyers from other areas so having bought a car from them in the past counted for nothing. They matched the car wow quote in the end but weren't really willing to negotiate. In the end I found the maximum discount on the net for the car I wanted and the maximum trade in value for my car. Using the online finance calculator I worked out what I was willing to pay for the car in terms of my monthly payment. I then knocked a bit off as s bargaining chip, told my other nearly as local dealer where they needed to be to get my business and they did the deal. It all depends on how you are funding the car, deposit amount and if you have a trade in as to how you negotiate. My advice is do your sums first, decide on your exact spec and go in with a realistic deal. If they won't do it just walk out and try another dealer.

Very nice, whats your expected delivery date?

Vegas (AKA) Elvis Yellow is definitely a Marmite colour. After spending ages in the dealers looking at various colours on new and used cars, various S3's and none of them floated my boat. Navarra looks amazing in the sun but in the shade with black pack looked a little subdued and not what I'm after. The black pack IMO looked to cheapen some cars (especially an S4 in Navarra) and the S3's with chrome and silver mirror caps looked the best, whatever colour. Yellow for me was the stand out colour that whatever the weather will look yellow. If it looks ***** when it arrives I'll just have to buy some numbers to stick on it and register it as a taxi, that way it can earn its keep!!

You'll not regret VY, and you've gone for a nice spec. If you do turn it into a taxi, then please PM your number!

Hmm ok, you've given me an idea. I'll have a go at this but problem with where I live is most of the Audi dealers are with Sytner, and for some reason they keep saying I'm already 'liasing' with one dealer and can't ask another sytner dealer as they have the same stock.

You can always do it over the phone, we bought our Cooper S from Sytner Birmingham after being told by the local dealer at Stoke On Trent, who we had the previous car from, that my figures were unrealistic. It took a few calls one Monday morning to sort it and the car was factory ordered, built and ready for collection 5 weeks later.
One advantage if dealing over the phone and leaving a deposit is that it is classed as distance selling. if you change your mind you can cancel and get a full refund of your deposit.

Cheers , September mate... so far away !!!!
Just checked on the online tracker and it now shows my car as a Yellow S3 so the new order details have been uploaded. It's also moved from an August build to a June build, week 25 to be exact. I wonder if switching from a BE to a standard S3 has made a difference?

That's happy days, what colour did you have previously ? I haven't been given a order number or tracking number as yet but I'm hoping over the next few days I will be able to obtain them from my dealer... yes it could well be because you have a none BE order now, they have told me end over July build date for my black edition! Hopefully you my get your order a month or so early now?!?

Fingers crossed, original order was brilliant black and then Navarra blue which is when it jumped back to August so maybe a colour issue? Perhaps the thought of spraying a car bright yellow is putting them off so they just want to get it over and done with!!

She's now moved to week 24, at this rate it will be built before the 2018MY changes come into effect, whatever they may be.

Has she? I am sure you won't be missing out on much if that's the case... still waiting on my build dates tbh, should have it on Tuesday. My order number is only seven digits long not eight like the tracking service requires. I will ask my sales adviser once he is back at work Tuesday! When do the 2018MY changes come into effect mate, any idea what they are ?

I think they come into effect some time in May, haven't a clue what they are. I received an e-mail from Audi with my order number on which I used to activate the online tracker. My order number starts with a 2 if that helps and you need to put the dealer post code in not yours.
