Anything i need to know before battery removal? (Installing clutch bypass harness)

I have bought a "press clutch to start bypass harness" from a user here and i'm not sure how to connect it on my car. Been sitting on the shelf for to long and it's time to get it connected

On a car with right side steering i think the connector is located on the right side of the engine bay but on my car with left side steering i think that this connector is supposed to be hidden somewhere under the battery bay and thats why i need to remove the battery first.

As the topic says, is there anything i need to know or think of before disconnecting the battery or is it safe? Any possible issues with error codes and such? It's a 2008 S3.

You just need to unplug the clutch switch connector on top of the clutch pedal, plug your new little loom in to it, then plug your existing plug into your new little loom

I contacted George earlier about this and he wrote "It'll be behind the battery tray on a left hand drive car. If you can take that out it should be feel obvious. That plug looks like the lambda sensor plug, so not the one you want. The one you want will be further down than that" so that's why i'm asking about battery removal.

But to be honest, i'm not really sure where to look exactly. Tried to do just as the instructions i got but it's a bit hard to find this little connector..

I had to fit a new battery to my 2097 S3 as the original packed up. Undo
- ve terminal first.
On refitting you may have a light on the dash relating to the steering. That disappears after a bit of lock to lock at slow speeds. You will also need to reset your auto windows.
Can't help you with your location of the plug but you will know if you look at the harness you bought what sized plug to search for.

If you have a revo map it will revert to Base settings

No problem mate. I'll have a look again once i have disconnected the battery now when i know that is safe to do so.

Still no luck finding that connector I'm afraid. I must be blind or that connector is very well hidden on LHD cars.

Took a photo when battery is removed, can you please point out where that connector is located? Would be very helpful! Not to question you but are you sure that the connector is located in the same place on S3 as TTRS? Can't see anything like that. I mean, there is a lot of cables.. but god knows what all of them is for

The only thing that looks like a connector of some sort is the one to the upper left of the battery in that image but i have no idea what that is really.

It's literally in the centre of that picture. Behind the white clip on that hose that goes at 45 degrees. The corrugated pipe from the left side of the picture goes to the top of the connector (and is what contains the wires for the connector). I'm only on my phone, so can't draw a circle around it, but can do it at work tomorrow if needs be
