Car vacuum cleaner - how do you do yours?

I have a black and decker portable vacuum cleaner, but still find the nozzle too big and clumsy to use. Thinking of getting another portable one, this time with a flexible hose to get in hard to reach crevices.

Interested to know what do you guys use? Rechargeable?Nothing beats the home use Miele, but again, too clunky to bring out and the mains cable gets in the way.
 
Dyson and long power cable extension ;-)

Personally don't use one. It's only me that sits in the car 90% of the time. I just use Dyson when I do wash or hover the car. I use the thin nozzle attachment only because mains power is much powerful than battery. How often do you use yours portal one?
 
I'm ashamed to say I only ever do the outside of mine, it'll go into Tesco's hand car wash this weekend for an interior clean. Hate doing it whilst I could spend hours on the outside. And I do!

Henry hoover for me with the brush attachment, seems to get into all the nooks and crannies. Good for stripes too!

Just don't run it over any gloss black trim as it scratches them badly.

Household Dyson with an especially long crevice tool that I purchased from ebay / amazon for getting down between the seat & transmission tunnel.

Dyson, Handheld. Does the whole house & the car. Gives about 30minutes charge. Comes with great nozzle attachments that get in all the little crevices in the car. The brush is especially good at getting in the OCD parts like the steering wheel Audi rings and MMI controls.
They are pricey but have a long warranty and really are exceptionally good. Its one of those things that you think its not worth the extra money but when you get it, you wont ever go back!

I don't do the stripes thing I like to brush the the fibres all back in the same direction so there is no indication that I've ever cleaned the car. (I have a friend who believes my car is always immaculate whatever the weather conditions / age of the vehicle... almost if I've done a deal with the devil to keep it like that & I don't like to disappoint lol ).

I very rarely use the portable one, probably once every 3 months.

However recently the council have stopped taking away garden green waste unless a fee is paid (grrr), so I had to go to the recycling centre with 4 huge bags of grass cuttings/hedge trimmings in the car. Inevitably some of the grass and hedge cuttings spilled out into the boot. As you all know, once something dirty makes contact with the felt material lining of the boot, it clings like Velcro.

The Black and Decker hand held vacuum cleaner has lost it's ability to hold a full charge any longer than 15 minutes, so now's a good a time as any to look for alternatives.

You need to get a boot liner. Brilliant - just pull it out and shake it. The original boot lining underneath is pristine!

had all sorts from black and decker to Dyson hand held, not worth the cost when my humble Henry always picks up better. you can get a flexible nozzle for crevices and a mini brush head for carpets.

Which boot liner have you got? I use a bath mat as a boot liner, but still end up with bits of crud underneath as there isn't a lip to capture the dirt.
 
Dyson handheld with flexible hose attachment and crevice tool, plenty enough power and on turbo mode is as powerful as upright imo, but I never let me car get that dirty

Bit late but trawling through the forum. I got my liner from carmats4u.com. I've been pleased with mine good fit and at about £30 good vfm
