Hi all brought an Audi a3 had various problems but managed to tackle most myself, but anyway the airbag light has been on since i brought it, plugged it in and found it to be the driver's side crash sensor, knowing the damp cuases issues i just assumed it to be fualty, ordered new one, and the computer was right it was the crash sensor only i never imagined it would actually be missing as well as the plug for it.

What I've done so far

Took up the rear part of the carpet check the wiring can't find the plug anywhere any idea where someone could of stashed it or where they may have left the cut cables any help would be brilliant.

Not sure what help the photos will be but took some anyway.

Not heard that may have to check i know when i checked on Ross tech it said it's near the pillar researched a bit and it came up with that location but least you've gave me another lead mate thanks I'll do some more googling

Sorry it's the crash sensor side airbag, driver's side to be exact

Took door card off, cables seem fine sensors dry looks fine can these things just go wrong.....Guessing they obviously can but how likely is it to be the actual sensor ?

mine failed. the usual procedure is to take the other door card off and switch the sensor and see if the errors switch doors. That will tell you if the sensor is an issue

Right so changed the sensor in the door, went to clear fault and instantly came back any thoughts on where i should be looking next as i have no clue about the airbag system.

Getting this error code i was hoping the sensor had gone open circuit but guess it's a bigger problem then i had thought.

Wondering if i need to reset the module or code the new sensor or something daft, guessing the procedure is to start at the sensor and work my way back checking the cabkes, any help would be awsome.

For anyone with the same issues I've sorted it now i double checked the cables as they exit the door and enter the car sure enough the cable had either been trapped or cut somhow missed it the first time as all the cables were twisted hiding the culprit cable break.
