So I returned to my car to see some b*****d had left a dent in my front wing.
This really upset me to think they didn't even bother leaving a note or apology.

Now I have problem as it's a PCP car and I need to have this repaired so how should I go about it? It can't be done paintless as it's an aluminium wing and right on the corner. If I was to repair it, it would need paint and I really don't want a shabby job on my brand new car
Would it be worth speaking to audi about it to see what they can do?
Or once they know about it will they be awkward with any paint going on there car??

I came back to my car damaged last week in the gym car park. Smashed grill, headlight, bumper, wing and bonnet. Well over 3 grands worth of work I would say. Phoned insurance told them what happened so I got it all fixed through insurance and got a strike against my no claims as they were protected. Easy process but **** courtesy car

Did you bother speaking to audi?

No I never bothered to the cars back to even better than it was. Old bonnet and bumper had a lot of stone chips. Your insurance will recommend a garage to you that can guarantee the works for 5 years aswell you get this sent in the post from the garage who fixes it. Originally I was going to use a different garage and they said they couldn't guarantee it and wouldn't give me a courtesy car that way. Plus gave me a discount of £150 on the excess because I used there reccomened garage so cost me £100 for a lot of work

Sorry to hear this there are some scum (polite version )out there who don't give a damn .
Have you looked for any cctv cameras where it was parked

Rahhh! I'd be hopping mad if that was my car. So sorry to see this mate, hope it get's fixed without too much fuss.

Dare I say it, but you 'might' be able to get the dent popped back out? Doesn't fix the scratch though...

It's not their car, it's yours. They might suggest that it has to be done by an audi repairer. So, be prepared if you show them that they will say you have to get it done by Audi. Get some quotes elsewhere first.

There's a trick doing the rounds on YouTube, been on a while actually, where you pour boiling hot water over the dent and you can hit it out from inside the wing!

I think that only works on plastic bumpers

Ah mate, I'm really sorry to see your car bashed like this ...not cool!! It really angers me that folk can simply walk away knowing they have ruined someone's day.

I've had body work done outside of the usual dealer networks before, and to be fair there are some excellent solo professionals out there. At least it isn't silver, hopefully you'll find that blue is an easier colour to match.

Good luck, let us know how you get on with the repair.

Sorry to see this :( was the alloy already done or did they catch that as well?

What the hell hit it a wagon? Can't say the driver wouldn't notice hitting you!

With me being a young driver my insurance would rocket up. I think that is a no go as I don't even have protected no claims

I'd get that boiling hot water and throw it over whoever did it.......

Have you spoken to a PDR guy as they can do wonders these days?
Yes, they have said they could do 80-90% and I'm not an 80-90% sort of guy.

In fact once it's painted and 95-100% I still won't be happy knowing it's been painted.

Yes, I spoke similar words at the time, a little less polite too!
I have done indeed and unfortunately not

I thought the same mate. Took it straight to a company called 'Dent devils' as I'd already heard they were doing wonders. However it's right on a crease on the corner of the arch, he said they couldn't get it better than 80-90%

I guess you're right. And if that's the case I'll stay clear, I've heard horror story's about they're paint shop anyway.
When I first picked the car up it had a tiny scratch, their paintwork specialist went straight for the T cut on a dirty panel. Not my sort of specialist

Yes they definitely aren't top notch. Sadly good bodyshops are few and far between :( Seek some advices for those on here local to you for paint.

I'd have a pointless dent removal technician look at it (my Dad used to be one) and you'd be susprised what they can get out. They will unlikely get it perfect because of the crease, it would be near impossible but the more they get out the less filler the bodyshop will use.

Tell me about it, I'm devastated! Prior to this I've only owned used cars. And never had anybody touch them. I've had this from new for a few months and somebody goes and puts a dent in it!

Hopefully you're right about the colour match!

l was run into by some old coffin dodger in my new Focus ST3 several years back,it was only 6 weeks old at the time and had a almost identical mark/dent on the wheel arch like yours mate....it does take a good bit of force to make a dent like this....the body shop did'nt replace the wing they filled it then a respray of the wing,it was'nt perfect

Sorry to hear about your damage.
Seriously p****s me off that someone would do a runner after dark one this, but there's all too many around these days who would.
No reason to tell Audi. Get it repaired by whatever means. As long as it's done to the required standard Audi won't be interested.
When I had myA5 (two cars ago) a taxi ran into me when it was 6 months old on a PCP causing £12k of damage.
As part of my claim I enquired with Audi regarding any reduction I might suffer when trading in at any point after that and they said not at all as long as it was fixed by an insurer "approved" repairer. Didn't affect the value when changing to the S5 at all.

But don't forget that even if you pay for it yourself (i.e. you don't go through insurance) you're still obliged to tell your insurance company that you've had this incident. I'm sure many people don't but ........

I feel your pain, I have been into couple testy situations like that in the past. Paid out of pocket for my repairs since it wasn't too much to involve insurance.

So was your 8V parked out on the street curb like that? That's a big no-no in my books, if you have a drive thru you should be parking it there, or put in a garage, or car port and out of the way of nasty general drivers who recklessly don't give a tart about their cars let alone anyone else's.

Got a feeling it was a transit van or similar. He would have known he done it but maybe the damage to his was minimum so he drove off

Really funny you post this.

My granddad has his A3 Saloon bumped, exactly the same place.. almost identical damage just his paint has split.

£250 cash to repair.

My wife drove the S3 into a pillar in a garage, among other things I got a dent and deep scrape marks over the wheel arch crease as you do but lower down where the two panels meet. Let's just say metal was showing and it was not pretty.

Handed it into a local Audi dealer that has a body shop and got it back flawless. I am a 100% or bust kind of guy and I inspected it thoroughly and compared to the other side and it is impossible to tell anything has been done, was thinking they would have trouble with the Daytona colour but they managed to do that part too. They told me they use a mold of some sort to hammer it out to get the perfect shape again, before removing the paint from the entire part and repainting it.

What it would have cost paying out of pocked I do not know, I took it on the insurance we get included on car purchase for 3 years over here, "only" had to pay a £570 deductible. But yeah, it is possible to get it 100%.
