Hi all

So after just 18 months & 4000 miles I've decided its's time for the S3 to go, although a really great car it never excited me as much as my 8P S3. I can't put my finger on exactly why this is, but gone were the times I'd just pick up the keys & take the car for a spin.
I wanted to get this feeling back so after several test drives I'm switching to a used TTS. Test drove another this morning & had a massive smile at the end so deposit paid, I'll still be lotering around on this forum as always enjoy reading the banter.

Regards Karl

Yes - finding one proved much harder than I thought. Most dealers only have one in stock & specs / prices varied massively. So had to find one in excellent condition, with the options I wanted at a price I was prepared to pay.
Job done roll on next weekend :racer:.

So off to swap my S3 today, so notified my insurers & guess what I got a rebate of £5 for the last month left on my policy. This means the tts is over 16% a year cheaper, yet the S3 is group 36 & tts group 42 - probably down to how many S3's are being pinched. So I've a 100 mile drive left to the dealers & then back in the tts, will let you know my first impressions later.
What mid-life crisis :racer: Karl.

So my S3 ownership is over, first impressions of the TTS - love the front seat why can't the S3 have these much better than the supersport upgrade in the S3 imho. That said the S3's includes the rears so you get the diamond pattern in the back, not so the TTS the back bench is plain. Love the virtual cockpit, also really like the rear wing popping up but why is it set at 74mph in the UK? Also a big plus is the connectivity no need for expensive AMI leads, just USB ports so you can use your link/charge cables for iphone/ipod. Had a great drive back 95% motorway did notice the ride is quite firm as have 20's on with 30 profile tyres, bet these aren't cheap. So initially I really like (love) the car, so finally I must say a big thanks to Ray at MK Audi who did everything I asked of him during the deal.

Very nice Karl.
Love those wheels, there was knee the same in Stirling Audi last time I was in.
Thankfully some of the features you mention are now on the FL S3.
Keep,us posted on your TTS experience, I'm sure it'll be great.

Live 1.5 miles from work (31 years & counting) so need a car for me, not travelling. Cars can make the sh*t you have to put up daily with worthwhile.

Happy chappy Karl

Karl, you've not really said to much about the car, more about seats virtual cockpit and Ray who's obviously earned a few bob out the deal. My guess is the tts doesn't quite meet your expectations. Looking at the photos the blue car I'd expect to have a beer with who got out of that and have my haircut with who ever got out of the other one Just my opinion and I have had a lot the drink today, if I'm wrong my apologies and I hope you enjoy your new car.

So what about the person who got out of this? (out of interest)

Some interesting roads up that way, including Applecross. I'm sure you had fun up that way. Did you get over (the sea) to Skye? Albeit over the bridge rather than a Bonny boat.

Done the Applecross road, went up from the Applecross side, got to Applecross from Ardheslaig along the coast road. Didn't do Skye this time, done it a few years back. The A832 to Gairloch is a fun/fast road ;) just got to watch out for Deer!!!

Cool! I recall using the ferry (when I was a lad!) before the bridge was built. My sis lived in Portree running a B&B. Used to love that 5 hour drive up there, roads are immense.

Hi Sandra
Could you help me - I've tried PMing NHN but I don't think it works for me, get the error message that there was a problem publishing my share (see attachment). I've clicked on the try again field where it prompts me to log into a Facebook account, unfortunately I don't have one of these. Can PMs be sent without one & if so how?
Thanks in advance.
