Just wondering if those of you who used Orange Wheels would mind posting which dealer they put you in contact with?
The a few peeps that have placed orders through Crawley dealer but they have no allocation for popular models. I'm just wondering if there's something fishy going on whereby Crawley is OWs go-to-dealer who undercuts other dealers to get a full order book but are stringing cusomters along as they know they have used up their allocation.

Makes sense for OW and Crawley as Crawley get a full order book for zero sales effort (most customers go to local dealer to view cars, OW get all the customer enquiries and details, we promote OW for the great prices). All Crawley need to do is work the numbers and place the order.
As always it the customer who loses out and has to wait.

Hence a request to see if those who have used Orange Wheels are happy sharing which dealer they got referred to in order to see if there's a pattern.
Of course what we get back may blow my theory out the water absolving OW.

(As you can see, it's early in the morning dealing with my 2 yr old who won't sleep so clearly have too much time to over think stuff while goes off to sleep)

It might be that crawley are using Orange Wheels without any collusion from them. I've not used Orange Wheels but when I first started looking I used car wow to get a price. They just farmed the spec out to dealers and I got a bunch of quotes back.

That could well be the case. It's strange though how - as you say - when you request a quote through Orangewheels you get a price instantly which means they know exactly what discount they can get you for every option on every car. With Carwow, it takes several hours in business times to give quotes from 5 dealers which can differ by thousands of pounds.

Seems though for this type of car Orangewheels only uses Crawley Audi. Not sure what other conclusions we can draw from that.

I'm in the process of buying a new A6 Avant Black Edition 3.0 TDI 272 PS in moonlight blue with tech pack and smartphone interface. I did the deal through OW (cracking deal I might add) who told me during the negotiation process that they would put me in touch with a London based dealer as I live in the south of the country. When the time came to do the deal however, they put me in touch with Crawley Audi to effect the purchase.

I used Orange Wheels to price up my S7, then took the printed quotation to my local dealer.
They matched it within 24 hours :racer:

I didn't quite get a price match with my dealer but I've got them to do a series of mods I was going to pay to get done ... black gloss coat my OEM rims, black gloss paint the front splitter, replace my white wing mirror covers with black gloss and replace my silver emblems with black gloss (as provided by me). OW deal was probably about £1,200 better over 4 years. Work I'm getting done probably would have cost me £500 odd. I look to change my car every 2 - 3 years so it worked out ok ... plus, having ordered in August my car is now sitting at emden docks waiting to be shipped over. Through OW it was into next year.

Yep. Not particularly a problem but for the fact that they don't think to tell you any of that :crying:

Humm, is be inclined to think it was a problem as they are creating such a massive back log. They will instantly use up their new allocation for March with orders placed back in June and since. Imagine how many poor people will be fobbed off and end up waiting crazy times with no idea why.
OW and Crawley Audi won't care as they have a full order book.
I personally think it's miss-selling as I nearly cancelled my order on the basis of a December delivery and saving of a couple of grand. That was basically a lie as they knew full well they wouldn't be able to fulfill the order until beyond March.

Think I'd avoid if I knew the game they were playing. I'd certainly shop around other dealer networks who might still have allocation left.

But hey, each to their own I guess.

Hi all. New member here, having just ordered my first Audi (A6 Allroad Sport).
Just wondering if anyone has recent experience with OW/Crawley? I ordered through them because quite frankly their quote blew everyone else's out of the water, including those through carwow. I wanted a fairly specific set of options and no one could offer better delivery than late Apr / early May. Seems like a long wait, but I'll put up with it for a quick trip down the M23 and being £15k better off than if I'd ordered at my local dealer! Tracking through yourAudi and all seems currently on track for April 10th build.
Or am I missing something?

If you're happy then go for it!

This thread was about how they were misleading last year on how long it would take to deliver certain cars for factory orders. I found this out after placing an order and being told it would be December delivery, but upon ringing Audi UK they informed me there was no allocation within the Inchcape dealership and in fact delivery date would probably be March.

If you have all the info - particularly the build date - I'd say you're in the clear! Good luck with the wait.

Ok. Cheers. The lead time / allocation issue is something I'd definitely be conscious of if I use them again.

FYI, i went through Carwow and got a very competitive offer from Audi Coventry. Also with Carwow you see all the offers from the different dealers and then it's up to you. So far bought three cars through Carwow and not a bad a experience to date.

I bought through Orangewheels/Crawley Audi, like you getting a deal that nobody else could get close to. Had a few issues initially with lead time being longer than advised when order was placed, but in the end took delivery only around 5 weeks later than initially informed. I'd have no hesitation in recommending them. Best of luck.

I did the Orange Wheels through Crawley. Order to delivery was really good, it was only afterwards that I had issues with them - becuase of this I will pay the £500 more to have a dealer on my doorstep rather than a 500 mile round trip.
