Soon as @Raiden posted Blade Runner, I thought Vangelis - "The love theme" from Blade Runner. Fantastic soundtrack.
@Ben85 posted Top Gun, some good music to go with that film, but for me it's "highway to the danger zone".
And The Breakfast Club posted by @Scottyg "Don't you forget about me" Simple Minds.

Some of my all time favourites are...
Pulp Fiction
Girl, you be a woman soon

Jackie Brown
110th street

So what are your soundtrack favourites?

This standards out to me. If you like your house music then Kavinsky's album is well worth a listen. Did anyone watch 'Drive' when BBC re scored it?

Then Limp bizit version of mission impossible. Tho you have to listen to zap moma first and the beginning credits

Not sure if I can count this under film sound tracks but out of all these film threads started the last few weeks no one has really mentioned one of the best film series EVER!!!!

The music for this scene is awesome.

And we can't forget about the theme tune

Good thing about a thread like this, you remember what great films are out there to watch.

Not seen Drive in a long time but good film if anyones not seen it.
I prefer the limp bizkit version @Raiden

..and think I need a limp bizkit fix soon after hearing that.

I will post in the ASN music section :)

Just to clarify, are we posting only actual tracks composed by artists outside of film, but are then used in film? I've got a bit of both!

Moby - Flower (Gone in 60 Seconds intro.) Brings back great memories!

Suicide Squad had a pretty good selection of songs. This clip alone has three!

Adele - Skyfall. Naturally.

Django Unchained - Too Old To Die Young

This is it.......for now!

It's pretty much open for all I guess, im enjoying seeing some fantastic films iv forgotten about, & love the music.

I like the ones you posted, @DJ_26:hi:

I like to see the soundtrack fit with the film, Quentin Tarantino imo is a master at this.

This one below for me is just the perfect piece of music to go with the film...

what a great thread :sunglasses:

had to laugh at this one Sandra - I love this scene in Deliverence :)

I have loads of film soundtracks - but I am more into the OST music a la Hans Zimmer, James Horner, Jerry Goldsmith, Alan Silvestri, Brian Tyler, John Williams, Mark Mancina etc.

A few choice examples of some older classics .......

For me anything Carpenter related......

Escape from New York

Prince of Darkness

Ennio Morricone

The Thing..... stills stands up as a great film even by today's standards it hasn't really dated

@Snake Pliskin @T-800 fantastic clips I going to watch them all. It is a great thread, some of these movies are a blast from the past. @Snake Pliskin i do like John Williams, which is strange as I don't really enjoy classical music very much at all. He does a lot of soundtracks for the gaming industry as well.

I'm going to set up another thread soon which could be fun it will involve cars and music so hope it's going to be as popular. :)

When you say classical do you mean 'classical' music Sandra as no I am not into that either.
But soundtrack music is a totally different genre.
I do also like some music scores which include singing too a la Top Gun etc.
A cars & music thread sounds intriguing :sunglasses:

Oh and talking of game music, this was a superb music score:

This has always been a favourite, most of Newman's scores are ace.

Superfly deserves a mention for having a soundtrack way better than the film!

Soundtrack music is good. When I was in school (long time ago) we were made to do all the classical stuff and it really grinds to listen to it now. I love all other music and I especially love playing jazz music on my saxophones. ( I have an alto and a soprano sax) :) x
