Have been having an issue with the stereo on A6 playing mp3 files, no matter what I have done be it change the kbps when ripping to using different types of software to rip to mp3 nearly every time I get a different result. I have done everything from wipe the SD card, reformatting them. Album folders that played perfectly before will not play after reformatting to FAT32. Has anyone have any ideas?

Regards
Peter

Hi Peter,

What happens when you try to play mp3s? I have not had a problem playing mp3s (various bitrates) from SD card or from USB stick.

Only problem I have with some mp3's is cutting end of the track.
Tune goes as normal and suddenly few seconds befre the actual end, it quickly jump's to next track.
Tried to extend trancks with additional few seconds of "silence" just to prevent it from being cutt off but no luck. Cut's off in the same moment as usual.

Apart from that, no problems with mp3's.

I have an issue with DVD however.
Cannot work out what files actually can be read. Thied number of them on burned dvds, in different speeds but no luck.
Had only one ocasion that mmi actually seen the dvd disk but nothin on it, or another one where disk and video's visible but could not play it.

Anyone can shed some light on video file extension?

As far as I know it'll only play actual DVD videos, there is software around that will burn them for you. I don't believe it supports any more modern formats like MP4 etc.

I was using various ones, including dvd.

What was the software name, you remember?

What MMI do you have? As far as I know you will only be able to use the DVD player if you have MMI 3G HDD

Maybe that's the reason, I just presumed that having a DVD drive meant you could play DVDs

Hi Steve
I constantly get "No Playable tracks" on new CD's I have ripped!

What software are you using to rip the CDs?

Everything from DBPoweramp, Boilsoft CD Ripper, Windows Media Player/Ripper, Freemake CD Ripper to mention a few!

Sounds like you've got your bases covered there! If you have someone nearby with a similar car maybe try the same mp3s on theirs, see if the problem is limited to only your stereo?

Steve, this software sorted me on DVD issue.

Burned dvd with few music videos and they nicely played and dispalyed on the screen.
Few got cut off by seconds bedore ending like mp3's but maybe video was at fault.
Will investigate later.

Ntsc format from my previous software didn't do anything but your recommended one made my day.

Great tip that helped a lot.
Thnx again.

Sorry Crossmax to interupt your issue.
Have you tried different burn speed for the cd? Maybe same file/format/extention/bitrate from usb track to burn on cd and play?

Steve , i also used your advice and success . But i have problem . First 8 tracks is ok , i can choose it via simple menu . Then i have on the bottom "next" and it also works , but then on the bottom a have prevous and next , in that case i can only go to prevous ( first list) . I cant go to next again via mmi comands. If you understadn what i wrote.
It is limited for 16 tracks only . :)
