Hi
Just picked up my 2013 S-Line TFSi today and really enjoyed the 140 mile trip home :)

1 thing which i was dissapointed with was the windscreen washers - jets of water instead of the better mist type - can these be retrofitted as they were on my MK7 golf which i just traded in so i guess they can be swapped?

anyone done it?

Think the mist type from the Leon is a direct swap - need to check if you have heated jets or not.

I came from a MK6 Golf and much prefer the direct jets.

I found the mist ones aren't as effective at motorway speeds and didn't clean the screen when there was a lot of salt about.

I find the jets on mine don't quite go long enough by a fraction of a second.
On the other hand my wife's TT has mist spray and discharges way too much water, in some cases obscuring your view slightly too long.
Not sure if the timings can be changed easily?

Much prefer the mist which i've had on several cars - i'll double check the part number next week DJAlix and let you know (do you know which model they're off?)
Not sure if they're heated - i'll look for any wires leading to them to check :)

Great thing about VAG cars - interchangeable parts :)

Thanks guys

The jets are horrible after having the mist type on my old A3 8P. Mine are heated however on the S3 is it still possible to switch them to mist?

My washer jets are total garbage, most of the time they spray straight over the roof, and I only get all the jets on the glass if I'm doing about 100mph.

Even so, £50+ for set of new jets? Seems mightily expensive, even to someone like me who can and usually will justify buying all sorts of nonsense with reasoning so flimsy it makes Blair's Iraq war justification look like solid common sense.

I remember the Leon ones having a small Allen key next to the jet for height adjustment .....

If the A6 ones fit the A3 then they are only £10 each for the heated ones.

I much prefer the mist type ones on my wife's Citigo than those on my A3.

The water reservoir is far too small also.

Totally agree, they las tno time at all at this time of year. It would be even worse if I had no control over when the headlamp washers activated like my last few cars though. Something Audi has improved hurrah!

I've increased the number of screen wash cycles before the headlamp washers are activated using VCDS which helps reduce the fills.

Can anyone confirm if these fit an A3? A much more reasonable price than over £50 for the lot of them if so!

Interested in this also. The ones above and the Seat Leon ones were handed so LH & RH whereas the mk7 Golf ones in Alex's link are just the one part number used on both sides.

If anyone is near the essex herts border I'd happily pop my a6 ones in to try. Yes they are left and right specific. Not on fit but spray pattern.

Interesting...Whereabouts?
The people that know the roads are working that out. Evo triangle was the first idea but people say there are loads of people and police about on weekend.

The cheapskate in me was kind of hoping the £10 heated A6 ones were the ones you were trying haha

This video would imply that the A6 ones do fit in the A3, although I see from other posts they appear to be a bit of a Hybrid with Jets and spray.

Yes they are. Specific left and right handed. They tend to get the best write up. I have had jets, full fan on the leon and the A6 hybrids and they are the best in all situations in my opinion.

And not bad at all if they're ~£30 all in and heated

The A3 has 3 of the jets I believe, one in the centre... does the A4 have just left and right?

I'm trading in the Mrs mk7 gtd the same time I pick up my s3, could I just swap them over? Would that work?

Sorry maybe wasn't clear enough. You have the 'unit' the products the spray/jet/water.

You appear to have a left one and a right one? I am not 100% sure but I am fairly sure the A3/S3 has 3 of these 'units' so there is one left, one right and one 'central' one in the middle of the bonnet. So I'm unsure if the A4/A6 ones would be suitable after all, because they won't sell a 'centre' version with the appropriate spray pattern

Unless we block off / leave the centre one
