Well I've only gone and ordered! I've never really bothered with a waiting thread when I ordered my B8.5 (I just stole @scotty76 thread ). So here goes, spec as follows:-

S4 Avant
Daytona Grey (again, just couldn't go with another colour)
Black pack (although I'm already hatching a plan to change the mirrors to ally from gloss black)
Adaptive Sport Suspension
Dynamic Steering
Sports Diff
light & Vision pack
FB steering wheel
Memory seats & dimming mirrors
B&O
Carbon inlays
Privacy glass
Rear view camera
Storage pack
5-spoke V’ design alloy wheels, ‭contrasting grey diamond cut finish

Dealer has said realistically, May delivery so the waits begins!
At least there's a order tracker available now.
As with my last car, it will be going of for a new car detail and some protection asap.

Honestly. Congrats mate. Hope it flies by. The B9 is miles more than I expected. Keeps surprising.

Did you have a test drive?

Yes mate, had a demo car for 3 hours or so this morning. Really does feel like a step up but still think my supercharger sounds better, not sure if the new sound is an exhaust valve or fake again. Just like the b8.5 its unseemingly fast, in fact I was struggle to get down to 30 when the roads required.
I still dislike the fact the screen does retract or hide, but I can't see Audi changing that anytime soon.

Woohoo got the order number today so I can get set for the order tracker! Also got a provisional BW 14, but at this stage I'm not to concerned as ive seen previous orders jump around fowards then backwards until production is confirmed

My order is now showing on the tracker, less than a week!
Says construction is due to start on the 3rd April, although it also says the order was placed on the 18th Oct 2016!
I'm assuming that this is because the dealers build slot allocation or an amended order?
If so I real hope the date shifts foward.

My order date was 3rd or 4th October from memory so I'd hope that build date come forwards.

Note to self, stop looking at the tracker!
Says car had slipped 2 weeks to BW16, checked with dealer and there system says the same.
I know all these dates are still fluid until locked, but still a downer. All these new posts from new owners aren't helping lol.
At least there's lots of pictures to look at

Haha it's a killer isn't it?! Every day some nice new photos of the B9 appear and I think "should I change from navarra?"

Simple answer ... No! That's a gorgeous colour!
It'll be worth the wait

Car has slipped yet another week (3 since ordering) now showing as BW 17, wc 24th April, sigh

In an attempt to keep me sane and take my mind off the wait, I have been playing on the Audi.de configurator and viewing some used S4's for sale.
I don't speak German but I'm fluent in Google translate.

A few observations:-

• They get basic cloth seats as standard, super sports seats cost big and there is an intermediate Milano leather option.
• The 18" wheel option is worst looking than ours (see link below), plus our top two 19" wheels options are the other way around in terms of cost uplift!?
• Lots of other poverty spec items as standard that are cost options, but we get as standard!

And the car is more expensive so its not all bad I guess.

These cars are much more expensive on the continent due to the currency loss of the last year..

If Audi wont allow you alu mirrors (doubt you can spec it) its pretty cheap to do yourself. You could also get carbon atlas housings and stand out a bit.

Raywell Design doing Carbon mirrors for about £200. They look very well made.

Yeah I've seen the carbon ones but I'm a sucker for OEM! Got a price from parts request for the chrome, £500!
As soon as i can confirm the part number I'll be ordering these. My first S4 B6 had chrome mirrors so I've always had them since.

Seems a bit off you cant spec them. If you order Mythos with Black Pack you get the Alu with it.

No idea, I changed the spec (Manhattan to Daytona) but before the build date was confirmed, then it went back 3 weeks, then another 2. I think they have been over subscribed on the car for one, and have a yearly quota for S models, or so my guy at Audi told me.. the other (and more likely) thing could be black styling which has been causing delays.

Ordered on 7th January, originally it showed on the tracker as 3rd April build date, that slipped to the 17th and now slipped to the 24th April, so realistically end of May delivery. Still hope for it to come foward but I don't think it will.

I'm about to call my dealer and shout at him

Ive been lead to believe it will come forward but I'm not so sure. The worst thing is until I have a confirmed build I'm still flipping all over the place on colour. I love Daytona but am seeing it everywhere and have this crazy urge to order a red one! Also imagining exclusive colours will suddenly appear on the available options.. I desperately need my build confirmed before I potentially so something I might regret (or not)...

When I ordered my RS3 I knew my S5 would be a due a service part way through the waiting process so after I had exhausted all other negotiation talks on the exhange, my final 'seal the deal' was cover half my service costs on the S5 which they reluctently agreed to lol saved me £180 or so though.

It may be worth speaking to your salesman and asking if they can contribute as a gesture, especially of the new car is talking longer than anticipated.

Dealer said he'd sort it so I wouldn't get hit with any extra costs. He also said my order was showing as been back to the original BW 14, although the tracker still has BW17.

Little update, tracker has now aligned with the dealers system, car is showing as BW14, wc 3rd April but still status 10 so not confirmed. As this is now under 4 weeks I had hoped it would be status 20 at least.
My local dealers have sold there demo and got a new one, so I will be having it for Saturday morning to play.
(Unless they sell it first)

I'm also interested in getting chrome mirrors with my black pack. Did you get a part number in the end?

Also just looked at myaudi tracker and mine has left the factory. No idea how quickly it will get on a boat to Sheerness!
