Hi Guys,

I just put my 8P Sportback on the market and are now looking at buying a new A3 8V.

To begin with I just added everything extra that sounded nice, but unfortunately the price is a bit too high. As mentioned in older posts we pay 150% tax on our cars here in Denmark. So the price ran up to 56.000£ (not even a S-Line)

I therefore decided on skipping the leather/fabric seats as they were 4.500£, so would you still go for the Mono.Pur option (700£)? I have the Mono.Pur in my A3 8P. Audi sales dude told me I would get them with black stitching.

What if I decide on retrofitting seats later, wouldn't it be sad if stitches is not matching up if purchasing the Mono.Pur now? Do anyone know if the Mono.Pur can be purchased later on? I know how difficult it was to find them for my A3 8P as they were really for the RS3 and not sold with A3.

What would you do?

Thanks

Personally, I'd keep the 700€ in my pocket, or spend it on a more useful option, as IMHO the cost of Mono.Pur is an absolute ripoff! :whistle2:

I do agree with you. I just want to make sure that I can purchase and retrofit later.

I did add the mono.pur to my A3 8P before I got the new seats and it did not really make sense to have that when seats were no in leather.

I really wanted it just to make the cabin look that little bit more premium, but the value proposition just isn't there for me. Most options you buy you'll never really recoup but certainly not for a bit of extra 'leather'

So you would not recommend me to purchase with the car?
Mono Pur would be a difficult retrofit IMO. Firstly you would need to find the parts and secondly all the "covered" parts are "plastic welded" together. Removing and reinstalling the door handles is not such a major job but the pads on the centre console would need to be broken off and then the new ones glued on.

I only have part leather interior as I hate full leather seats in general, but just like @lledwoc I wanted it just to make the interior look more premium.

Mono Pur will 100% not add any value but it might make the car little more desirable when coming to sell it.

Thanks DJAlix, that was exactly what I was looking for.

I was not going for full leather myself but same as you, however the price of 4.500£ + mono.pur at 700£ is a bit scary!

If it needs to be glued, I would rather purchase with the car and just ask for white switching as if I would retrofit seats later on, I would try to find white stitching anyways.

Yeah, I've ordered that on mine then! I sat in a car with leather center console and armrests and was surprised how much more upmarket it felt just with those small touches!
