Good morning!

Does anyone know how to (probably via coding) turn down the brightness of my facelift LED tail lights?

I can't remember exactly where it is. It's an adaptaion in 09 central electronics though.

I need to tweak something tomorrow so i will have a look if you don't have any joy in the meantime

I won't have time to plug in until Saturday so will see then. They are way too bright for what I was expecting so would like to tone them down to a normal level

Yea i'm pretty sure it's like the front where they are around 70% out of the box

See, the fronts would be great this bright, brighter the better as that's all about daytime visibility... But burning the retina of the poor person behind me whilst sat at the lights at night is not cool.

No i'm with you it just makes the differentiation between tail and brake harder to work out

Exactly that. Plus, people see Audi drivers in a slightly less than favourable light as it is without giving them a reason to hate me ha ha.

I'm ordering a new BCM2 tomorrow too, to let me code the lights properly and then in February I can add in other things like keyless entry and auto boot opening/closing.

Your convenience module coding is incorrect. Have you retrofitted these light clusters?

It's possible to adjust the brightness of the LEDs (and even halogen) tail lights by altering the coding.

Hi dpaz, yes these lights have been retrofitted. The coding is identical to the oem coding on a facelift Avant with LED tail lights so I guess that the code needs to be different if it's on a pre facelift BCM2 module?

Hi, sorry that post is missing the chart I was referring to and I can't find it now. Basically it's a chart of what all the different bits 0/1's for the tail lights do. The first half of the coding controls the voltage ( brightness ) the second half of the coding was the lamps application, tail, brake, fog, indicate etc.

If I find it again I'll post it.

rlarsen was the guy in Audizine pointer me in the right direction.
