ODBII security

With the spate of keyless thefts on S3's around the UK I'm wondering if anyone has considered getting something like a odbsaver to thefts using the ODBII port.

I'm considering it but I'm not sure how effective they are?

Best bet is a separate alarm/immobiliser & move the OBD port IMO

Last time I had a loan car from my dealership I checked the ODBII port and there was a thick cable tie wrapped around it. Stopped me from plugging in

Moving the port is more involved than I would have liked. A simple yet effective solution would be good.

These people just physically restrict access to the OBD connector? It seems a very simple solution, but it appears effective. As I read about it here. My city has also recently revived auto theft on order. It should look for some additional protection.

Cobra adr card car alarm is worth a look at.You carry a card with you to start the car.
Without the card the car isn't gona start not even with the key.

Trackstar Advance has an immobiliser as part of the tracker. They may be able to clone a key, but they ain't starting the car!!

I do have experience with Odbii connected gps trackers. I have used some simple tracker. You can see you car live location on your smartphone. But there is also other odb trackers with some car control abilities. Such trackers do not block odb physically, but you can install other gps tracker, like secret tracker in order to know you car location in case of theft. Found some information on gps tracking provider, but there is more of them on the market also

Great piece of kit that.

The only problem is you better have your weapons to hand when the scrotes come back into your house when they can't start your car.

Think it was about £375 fitted. Unless they know the button code the car just doesn't start, it can't be detected by anything plugged into the car either.

I called and asked about an off option for if you car goes in for a service etc. he said that you have a 'valet mode', that allows them to start and move your car around without the need of any code, BUT if they drive at over 30 mph for 3 mins or more the car turns the device back on, so the next time they try to start it they can't!. Or you can just change the code whilst they have it and then back to your normal code on collection, he said it's easy enough do. I'm looking to switch my car next year so may get one fitted, this is what I'm after:
