Exhaust Tips

Hi all... Was wondering if anybody has changed their exhaust tips!? I'm looking into doing just that but noticed a couple of weld spots annoyingly to keep them in place! The oem ones are around 90mm. And back box outlet will be around 85mm. So my question to anyone that has done this did you cut the original ones off or just use something to break the welds with a grinder or just brute force?

I assume you will do away with the silencers too, have done that on most of my diesel cars ( you can get away with them if you keep the DPF) you'll also save around 5kg too

Why would you remove the silencers? We're just changing the exhaust 'tips' here?
