is it possible to buy virtual cockpit retrofit parts .

could you advice me part number and if possible price

I would guess you are looking at a significant cost... probably thousands. I think you also need to upgrade the steering wheel and MMI to control it.

You upgraded a pre MY17 to the CarPlay capable MMI unit?

It can be done - there's a company (wait for it) in Russia that can do this. You need to rip out your MMI unit and send it to them to do some firmware update etc.

Once you've done that you just gotta keep everything crossed that they actually send it back as otherwise you'd be pretty stuffed.

Retrofits can be completed legitimately also :)

Re the VCP, there any many different versions available so in order to find out which one you would need for both your car and market I would speak with your local Audi parts department. Might be an idea to find a VIN or registration number of a local car which you can quote in order to get a list of the parts.

I would guess it'd be a cheaper (and better) bet to just get a new car.

Can I ask if those who have retrofitted the VC, is your remaining fuel indicator still accurate? Reflecting more or less the same remaining fuel vs mileage travelled compared to the analogue cluster?

Seems like mixed reports so far, some say they have no issue some say it's off... There're actually 2 groups of VC each with 2 part numbers, maybe people reporting fuel reading is off perhaps is using the wrong part??

Just checking the price of the VC in my car 8V0920790 - £1916.78 inc VAT :grimacing:

Any other owners who has done the retrofit please join in and share your experiences. Hopefully can help in ironing out my remaining issues...

- B&O Sound system (module 47) having error.
- Bluetooth phone calls, other party not able to hear me. (could be related to B&O)
- Remaining fuel tank indicator not accurate

Can you put info up of your retrofit @RS200Z I want to retrofit VC into my RS3.

Will buy the facelift S3 dash if needs be

I didn't change my dash... did like what most has done. Cut and trim the dashboard to fit. Not too difficult a job having seen it done personally.
The part# for the MIB2 and VC unit are as follows:
  • MIB2 - 8V1 035 035
  • VC - 8V0 920 790
i didn't change my MMI control on my centre console yet. But I do have the new TTS steering wheel with comes with the "View" button to toggle between Infotainment view/full screen navi and the dials.

Also I wonder if coding on the VC exists to enable 'RS' logo/speedo etc. If not guess I may need to wait for RS3 Sedan to launch.

If it helps any I have VC and B&O factory fitted.

:yum: Is that a firmware upgrade or a coding change ?
Not sure I really want to give up the information for the time being as I would be loosing a professional advantage... if you see what I mean. What I will say is that VCDS cannot perform this change at this moment in time.

@RS200Z how did you overcome the coding and the immobiliser defeat?

I believed my local installer did it with ODIS and/or VCP. I wasn't allowed to watch how it was done unfortunately.

Thanks mate. I noticed my Offset sensor 2 is set to 12.7 instead of -12.8. Will give it a shot and see how it goes.

PS : hmm...I also noticed your gen 2 B&O has more bytes in its coding compared to my pre FL one.

So I attempted to change the adaptation earlier and it needed a security code. The only one I've got is 20103 and it was accepted.
But when I change the value for IDE02818-MAS02377-Offset for tank calibration values-Offset sensor 2, VCDS throw me an Request Out of Range error :disappointed:

At Castle Coombe we were asked to rev the car to 5k for the noise test but it wouldn't go past 4k!

Oh :tearsofjoy: How did you get around that? I'm amazed that the RS3 passes noise tests for the roads, they must be tested in comfort for a start!

Were you on the track session at Combe? With RS3OC? Didn't recognise many cars to be honest, much prefer this forum so I don't know any. I have a video of that full track session.

There sure is some MAD people on here.....lol

They were ok to rev to 4k as realised it wouldn't go any higher :tearsofjoy: yep was out there, one of about 7 nardo ones!

Lmao, not that they had much choice I suppose I do believe that rev limiter should be removed on the sports series cars, but there we go.

I will have a watch and try to pick you out :D

I don't see the drive select and pressure for boost!
