New to the C7

http://www.ebay.com/itm/201613384430

They are just caps, I chose these as opposed to replacements as it's easily reversible! They also fit the C7.5
I was going to get them wrapped but couldn't because of the small channels at the top.

Great, thanks.
So when you say 'caps' do they fit over the existing ones or simply replace them?

Simply fit over existing ones!

Forgot to mention I fitted LED reverse light bulbs last week... They're quite bright without looking like headlights! And no warning lights...

Great as I think even my novice skills can cope with that.

One final question, did you get those particular ones from Hong Kong as £50 odd seems pretty good value compared with the c. £150 price others are asking.

I though they were too cheap also... But once arrived I was really happy with the overall finish and fit! Can't crumble at all... Took about 2 weeks to arrive and no additional tax either

Sweet! I might have to invest in a set then.
Thanks

They look great. You wouldn't think they just fit over the top.

I thought so too... Can't grumble at the price to be fair!

Although the darker colour of my car probably helps also

Out of interest did you not consider vinyl or is there a dim view of vinyl?
Bit new to this modding malarkey.

Only reason I ask about vinyl is that I was considering using it for the front splitter.
£44 for some wing mirrors ain't a problem, I suspect it would be more for the splitter, assuming I could find one.

I went to a local wrapping place and they said the durability won't be great due to the channels that run at the top of the housing! It would soon peel back...

For a front splitter I'd look into getting it hydro dipped...

Those mirror caps look like a snug fit :)

I almost bought some a few months back but was concerned they would 'stick out' but those look very good

I quite like them. And almost looks real! Although it is real CF

Nice car buddy, I like what you've done with the red strip was looking to add some similar accents to mine. Is the front an actual splitter or is it that 3m carbon flex strip that simply attaches to the existing bumper? think they call it a chin protection strip?

Thank you...
It is the 3M strip... But the one I got was the 'All Fit Lip'... It's on with 3M tape and about 8 small self tappers!
It's coming off though for a proper splitter soon...

Are you getting bulb error messages? Ive tried 2 different led bulbs, both claim to be canbus error free, yet still get bulb out messages.

I like that and was thinking about something similar. How did you go about it and what did you use?
Assume it doesn't impact the brightness of the reversing lights too much?

Easy enough... I used a Fly-Eye tint cut to size and stuck down!
Still plenty of light as well...

How do you get such a deep glossy shine?

Your car paintwork looks epic

(Sorry for going off topic)

Car was clay barred, Autoglym Super Resin polish applied... Then a few coats of Collinite 845!

Beading was on point yesterday

Oh no... Sorry buddy! But I genuinely don't get any errors... Maybe you can code the error out with VCDS!?

I was pondering that, may have to have a play and see if I can find how to do it in VCDS, I did similar with our old A4 but am guessing it will be different with the A6.

It will be different but I believe it can be done...

You can disable the cars diagnostics to stop getting bulb out errors :) you can do it individually in case that reads you disable the ENTIRE car lol

I have the Autoglym Polish and a Clay mitt, so the Collinite 845 is going straight into my wish list...
Been using Autoglym Gloss and not got a finish like that

Nice one... It's less than £20 on EBay. I used to swear by Autoglym HD wax. But much prefer Collinite
