Just got an online quite out of curiousity, .£600 a year. seems a bit steep, but i'm not at the stage of them charging £60 just to look at something.
any opinions?
Absolutely yes in my experience. Had 2 dual mass flywheels, oil cooler, aircon system, balance shaft, hex shaft and oil pump changed over the years and it only cost me the £250 excess.
I went for named items for £41 a month, paid by direct debit monthly so doesn't expire at 100K miles or 5 years. Mine is an 08 plate A4 Avant 2.0 tdi with 145k on the clock. Things go wrong so its best to be covered.

I always think it's hard to tell somebody is a warranty worth it. but you got two good examples there from @sidibear & @45bvtc.
Pay £40/£50 monthly for peace of mind, but if something goes wrong or not you're still paying for it.
Or take a chance and if nothing goes wrong there is money in your pocket.
.. But if something goes wrong, it's your money to take your car where you choose.
You can still put the money away in a separate account if you wanted to?
ta for the advice/opinions. i personally think - as w/ virtually everything from Audi - it's WAY overpriced. might turn out to bite my ar$e but i think i'll just put off and take it up if i start getting horrind noises from the engine or soemthing :-D
As an example just look at the posts about oil pump issues on the 2.0 tdi. Mine cost £250 excess to get everything done, I have seen prices around £2k+ for the same work. also the dual mass flywheels are around £1200 to change.
For me personally its worked out ok, and I get breakdown cover with it. Over the last five years it has cost me around £2500 in warranty fees and had around £6k+ worth of work done.
