New RS3 2017

Hard to tell with all the camo but some were concerned that arches will get "hidden" saloon vs hatch. Good spot though!

TX.

Edit - still no FL hatch spotted in the wild :tearsofjoy:

I'd like to see the hatch testing to put my mind completely at rest that it's coming, and not just the sedan. I was close to pulling my deposit. Perhaps I'll wait a little longer...

It does say that in the second paragraph that they are holding off with the hatchback until the saloon is finalised.
I'm slowly turning towards the saloon though.

More like 2018 if it goes the same way as the FL A3 is going at the minute.....
Hopefully we will see the saloon in the Uk. My hunch is that we won't. Purely for the US market. A3 saloon sales over here aren't that clever.

Still no F/L hatch OR saloon announced for the UK at any point soon!
Saloon RS3 was always going to be the US model!
Hold on to your deposits guys or get to the nearest Mercedes / BMW dealership.
I have a feeling that you are going to be in for a LONNNNG wait:tearsofjoy:

TTRS it is then. Piggy banks beware!

This will be a potent weapon, but its far to subtle for me (boring), if only it looked like the club sport concept, they are going to charge fortunes for it regardless thou, im betting 55k with the prerequisite options

I highly doubt a facelifted hatch will be released at all. They'll concentrate on the sedan as, globally, that's been the better selling model. By a long shot when compared to the hatch. Personally I prefer the hatch. Not a sedan fan.

No mention of sportback is indeed worrying.

I don't think you'll see a new RS3 in any shape or form in the UK till Audi release the next A3 in many years to come.
My dealer told me this months ago.
It was the same situation with the 8P chassis.
I think they like to keep these cars exclusive to some extent.

I think that they will release the saloon to rival the CLA45 and the hatchback as too. Maybe the saloon will only go to the US as the hatchback will sell better in Europe. Hopefully we will see both in Europe.

Has anyone noticed the roll cage in the car? You can see it through the windscreen and again through the nearside back door window on some angles.

Might be something they normally do, I've never noticed it however?

This is a safety precaution as several TT RS's have crashed in testing at the Ring.
This might be one reason why Type Approved is delayed.

Just to chuck this in to the cauldron - I mentioned it a few months ago but nobody commented - there WILL be a 3 door hatchback version of the rs3 mid to late 2017... yes! Mmmm.

I wonder what the handling differences are v's the TT RS?
TTRS will allways handle better for a multitude of reasons but main reasons are weight, weight distribution & wheelbase factors.

Even so I'd still would swap my ttrs & a bit extra ££ for a 3 door rs3 tho...won't be long! ;-)

You hope! Looking very doubtful though. RS3 sedan unlikely to reach the UK but just announced for the US 2017 / 2018.
Keep dreaming...:tonguewink:

Question, why do you keep posting "keep dreaming" / "you hope" / "no car announced" in every thread?

Are we not allowed to discuss a potential new model, in a thread titled "new 2017 RS3", within the RS3 forum?

Should we wait until you personally have a Audi brochure showing a new model, signed by everyone on the forum, to be allowed to discuss anything other than the current model? :tonguewink:

The current RS3 is a phenomenal car, no one is disputing that. Kudos to the current owners :racer: However, there will be a new RS3 at some point. They have a new 2.5 engine to sell. There are obviously people interested, hence why we are posting about it. Are those who "missed the boat" not eligible to discuss RS3's? I don't understand the issue...

Tom if you have a read of the last 3/4 pages of No RS3 discounts thread, you will it's same members/hecklers that are doing it all over again on this thread hence my short post of Groundhog lol

I know and I don't understand it, hence my post. If there was specific forum we weren't using then I could maybe see why, but there isn't. Even in a specific thread for FL news people keep trolling.

"My RS3 that I planned for and took delivery of in 2016 is great. All of you peasants currently without an 8V RS3 shouldn't be posting. There won't be another one until 2030, 2035 if you want a sedan in the US"

Question, why do you keep posting "keep dreaming" / "you hope" / "no car announced" in every thread?

Because there is no car announced. Let alone one that all the F/L believers have been banging on about, that will be better than the current one... more powerful, higher residual value. Like I say, keep dreaming...:tearsofjoy:

Of course you are. But if you don't like my points of view, then that's your problem. If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

No. That's just silly.

Because all the F/L believers have been so quick to tell all the current owners, over the last few months - and over about 10 threads, about l how their 'imminently to be released' cars will be better, faster etc. And now, given the lack of news, those same people are likely to have that realisation that they have missed the boat. Kind of an egg on your face situation.

Well, I've been waiting for this car for ages (currently have an S3 Saloon) and as long as it's not stupidly priced, I'll be ordering one.

I live in hope, but I doubt it'll be offered with a manual gearbox.

Oh my I'd give up my first born for a 3 door RS3 Sportback!

Exact opposite for me. I think this is one of the best looking Mercedes cars that I have seen in a very long time.

Bit of history attached to it as the FL "dreamers" were on here 6 months ago telling us that our car was out of date with the new one being so much better given its 400hp engine etc. and of course just about to be released! Payback perhaps ;)

It's got nothing to do with the "heat". This is a forum for discussion, of course post your opinion, but not when every thread seems to get trolled with "no new car for 15 years, you missed the boat"

No. That's just silly.

Exactly - So what are we "allowed" to post in your eyes? Testing videos of the saloon, but no discussion because it's not "official"?

Because all the F/L believers have been so quick to tell all the current owners, over the last few months - and over about 10 threads, about l how their 'imminently to be released' cars will be better, faster etc. And now, given the lack of news, those same people are likely to have that realisation that they have missed the boat. Disagree with that statement - Yes, maybe some have said that. Aside from that, all current owners have a great car. All of you guys are happy with your purchases - enjoy your cars! Why does it matter that some do not own a RS3 currently and want to discuss the potential new model?

What boat by the way? Its not Noah's ark - Apart from a lack of factory order goodness, there are cars out there if people are willing to wait for 2nd hand examples

I understand that and I'm all for a bit of jesting. But if you had to label me, I'm guess I'm a "F/L dreamer". I would love one currently, but everyone's situation is different and it wasn't the right time for me after taking delivery of the S3. But I've not been calling any current owners out on their cars, at all. I'm just eager to see what Audi have in store for us.

Now now, boys and girls, let's all play nicely!

For those interested, there are some unregistered RS3's still available, fully loaded and poverty spec, for circa 9% discount...

Where? Stoke? They are all pretty pricey...

Nope, Aberdeen Audi have stock, unregistered and brand new. Depending on spec, between 8-9% discount.
