Hello A7'ers
I've just popped over from the A5 section to introduce myself.
I've just completed a deal on a Daytona Grey A7 S-Line Ultra Sportback. It's a stock car at Belfast Audi so the only hold up should be the registration transfer.
Hopefully I'll have it in a 7-10 days.

This should be a much shorter anticipation thread than the A5 ;-)

I'll drop a few pics up when I actually get to see the car.

Steve

Welcome to the A7 Steve :)

This corner of the forum tends to be pretty quiet - so I keep an eye on the C7 A6 forum also, since it shares platforms with the A7.

7-10 days will seem like months away - for now ;-)

Thanks!
Looks like Friday is the day, assuming the cherished transfer goes ok.

Two weeks of negotiation and deal signed off without even driving it, finally got to drive one today, lol.
It's some beast, much more powerful than I'd anticipated for a lowly Ultra. Standard kit is remarkable as well.

Sounds fantastic Steve. As you say not a long wait this time :)x

Congrats on the new motor Steve, the A7 is a gorgeous car. Can't wait to see the pictures :)

Thanks guys.
I'm still pinching myself. It doesn't seem real but the guys at Belfast Audi really pulled out the stops on this.
I went looking for a Q5 and I'm still not sure how this happened....
I'll pop up some pics. Hope the weather holds until the weekend. When I picked the A5 up in August it chucked it down on the way home. White quickly turned to brown on the country roads

So, I picked up the A7 late afternoon. I'm absolutely chuffed with it.
The v6 is fantastically smooth the refinement, interior space and power delivery is impressive.

I'd only had a 2 mile test drive so to do the 20 mile run home was great. To top it off, on new, tight engine we hit 35 mpg on that short hilly run.

Some pics will follow tomorrow when I get to a laptop :-(

Congrats on the new wheels. Looks great in that colour.

Have you started on the list potential of mods yet?

Thanks guys.

On the mods front, a new boot carpet was cut last night from a fetching off cut., lol. It'll do for now.
Looking at combo boot liners on Amazon to keep the grass from the young fellas golf clubs out.

The Audi ring lower door lamp projectors tickle me so I may splash out on those too.

Keen to see what the economy is like before a think about the engine

May look at retrofitting the rear camera. Not a trivial one but not beyond my own capabilities. :)

Absolutely beautiful, health to drive.
Hope you make portadown meet as looking forward to seeing it. Will bring vcds for any tweaks needed.
@Darren92 retrofitted genuine rear view camera to his 2015 a4. Excellent job

@Statler Steve! Congratulations!!! It's such an amazing car isn't it. Hope you're enjoying it. Both of us have made the jump to the 7s from the 5s now. Wonder who's next...

I went to my local dealer a couple of months ago looking for a new A6 and ended up with a black edition A7 somehow. Love the car so far and I'm sure you'll love this one. I've done a couple of mods:
Sweeping gauges on startup.
Lap timer and boost gauge.
New black badges all round.
Audi logo puddle lights.

Enjoy.

Economy wise, it's hitting 38mpg on mostly short trips so I'm happy with that.
Portadown trip should give a better idea of long runs and we've a trip planned to Slieve Russell in Co. Cavan in July.

That's pretty decent! The most I see is 30mpg on the motorway... Which actually isn't bad considering!

Yeah, not bad considering yours is a monster lol

Comfort wise it's a bit firmer than the A5. I m more aware of being jiggled on some of our local B roads. However the seats cushion most of it. They're pretty good s-line seats in this one and the memory function is a blessing.

Firmer? That's not something I thought I would hear... When I test drove the A7 diesel it was so much more comfortable than the S5. The RS7 is almost as comfortable as the A7 and much better than the S5 in my opinion so quite surprising to hear you say that!

I thought the S5 had a firmer setup to the A5?
Just a bit... It might be the wider track catching parts of the road the A5 didn't, who knows. It still grips like buggery and shoots off the line like a scalded cat (compared with the A5). Its been a while since I heard the chirp of a front tyre breaking grip, rather unbecoming in a A7, but fun nonethelesss!
I'm very impressed with the S-Tronic gearbox, this is my first experience of it and it is super smooth. You don't notice it changing, nor do you ever get the feeling that you are in the wrong gear, even when having a spirited go around the twisty bits!
Economy mode is fun, you can get the car to coast at idle speed if you are careful. I like the game.
Dynamic mode is entertaining....

@Wippers Let me know if you find them :D

Yeah the S5 is firmer and lower than the A5 - which is another reason I'm surprised to hear you feel the A7 is firmer! But perhaps it's the wider track as you say.

I've not heard the RS7 wheels lose grip. It's grip levels are insane and so if I did hear that I think I would crap myself

The S-Tronic boxes are amazing - so fast and smooth. Glad you're enjoying it. I'd hate economy mode with a passion though :p Oddly the RS7 doesn't have one

For you it is, lol!
For me it still figures. I got burned by a 520i BMW many years ago and the scar still runs deep ;-)
Head always rules the heart for me except maybe this time ;-)

That's a nice colour combination. Btw any links to suppliers of Audi logo puddle lights for the current A7 would be appreciated.
