Hi Folks as title, is it possible?

I have read on other models there might be button about an inch below on the left but I can seem to find anything on the back of A6 seats.

Would be so much more practical on our ikea journeys if I could remove the headrest. Normally i'd just pay the delivery costs but my mrs....shes just soo spontaneous! lol

Hah, one thing that annoyed me about my A6 Avant! It's around a foot longer than my B5 Passat Estate I had before it, but the Passat could carry more length! The actual tailgate trim on the inside is huge on the A6, couple with much chunkier SLine seats meant I could carry an IKEA bed in the Passat, but in the A6, I had to move the seats forwards, and get my missus to drive!

There is a button about an inch down on the left looking from the back (on the passenger side at least). You can feel and hear it click when you push it. Fully extend it as normal then press the button ( if you can find it!) and lift up.

Thanks for the advise, I did try this but I couldn't seem to find the button. Is this for the s line leather seats? I'll try again.

Ended up having to use my mother in laws golf on the weekend as that took a 2.36m long wardrobe (flat pack) better than the a6 at the mo. If I could remove the headrest it would be fine.

Yes, s line seats. I'll try and get a photo but won't be until tomorrow. It does take a bit of force to push it in. I can do it from the front seat, gripping the seat back with my fingers but depends on your hands.

Just a quick note. I remember someone saying that there was 2 buttons, one on each leg, but I can definitely remove mine on my own.

Hope this works. You need to press quite hard and there is a click. It is on both sides, you can see the dimple in the leather where I tried on the other side.

It works! Thanks scott that's just made my life that little bit easier. There is indeed one button on each leg. I didn't hear a click but if you push the headrest up first you can see it being released. Infact once you know how, its actually quite easy to remove! Lol thanks again.
