Aftermarket S3 Exhaust Tips?

Do those fit the S3 exhaust? if so, where did you get them and how much?

Thanks
Yes, they fit. I bought from AliExpress for around $400. You need to get tips that have and ID of about 58mm/ OD of 60mm. I had to expand these as I bought tips 2mm too small, but easy to expand with a pipe expander.

You need to cut off the old oval tips.

I detailed the procedure here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...EM-Rez-Del?p=11602570&viewfull=1#post11602570

I first went with the DC tips, but too large for my liking, so went for the smaller CF tips.

If they're the same as the ones I've got, no they aren't a direct fit and require some modification to the existing pipes (basically just cutting back). Where are you based? I've got six for sale if you wanted them!
Were you going to make the first six-tipped S3? :p haha

I love them! Unfortunately however they are going to have to go back. There's an issue with the lacquer coating on two of the trims (the inside pair) and they've yellowed immediately - as in after just half an hour of driving. I'm assured this is a mistake and the guys are going to recoat all four for me. The upside is that I'm going to get the "heavier" gauge weave applied this time which will match the mirrors. So still a very happy bunny!

Hmm that's annoying

Good they're sorting it out though

I wonder if it really is to do with the lacquer, or is it something to do with the "lighter" weave.. or is the weave purely just to do with the look?

I personally think it might be something I can polish out, possibly a heat tarnish? But they will put it right so I'm happy!

I'd let them sort it mate with the improved lacquer. Ideally you want an air gap between the inner and outer surfaces as that is the best insulator against heat but unfortunately ours are not designed that way.

To an extent the new ones are better but one has still gone a bit. Doesn't particularly bother me however as it's very subtle and normal carbon can do the same in extreme heat so no big deal!

Sorry for bringing up the old thread. Could you advise me on the inlet diameter of the S3 tail pipe tip? I'm interested in the size of the narrow part of the pipe that remains after we cut the tip off. As I gathered from this thread, a 3.5" or 90mm outlet diameter of the tip looks good on the S3. But I need to know the inlet diameter in order to choose the right tips. I thought of getting these tips from ebay as they look very much like the Milltek ones. Then I'm going to plastidip them in satin black, but I'm not sure if the inlet diameter of 63mm would fit and I was unable to measure because I don't have a car yet.

Hi Guys,

Anyone recommend or has bought aftermarket exhaust tips for their S3?

Mine are in a terrible state, the outside has gone a "milky" finish - I'm guessing the previous owner or Audi used some sort of "oven cleaner" product on them and they have gone "odd". No matter how much metal polish I've used on them the milky finish is staying where it is. The actual pipe ends are also heavily pitted.

I don't mind aftermarket ones if they look similar the the genuine ones. Or if you know the pipe size of the exhaust without the tips?

Thanks
I removed mine to paint them.. only to prefer them without the tailpipes. Painted the exhaust pipes with high temp black which is a sort of dusty matt black finish. Looks amazing as they are straight cut and not rolled tips.

Did anyone se tips of a different color from black or chrome, for example gunmetal or anthracite grey? I'm wondering how such tips would look on a grey car with black optics.
