yourAudi - Track New Car Order

Stick with it Scottish: you've got a great spec car that you're happy with on the way and you're on the last lap now. Definitely worth trying to get a courtesy car, especially if you had a delivery estimate that they've missed. Can't see it will be another month, yours is already built as far as we know and usually it's 3-4 weeks from build to dealer isn't it?

Well Audi UK reckon that my car only left the factory on the 13th so it won't be in that ship due to the big backlog at the port.

TBH it's left a very bitter taste in my mouth that other people have ordered a few months after me (and with same specs and colour!!) and got their cars already! Audi are proper mucking me about and I would never have ordered if I knew it was going to be a 6 month wait! I was told a 2-3 month wait when I ordered!

Is there likely to be a huge backlog at the port. This is the 3rd Ro-Ro cargo shipment I've seen depart for Grimsby in under 1 week. When you consider they come in to Tyne, Grimsby and Sheerness that's alot of rolling cargo.
I feel sorry for the North as not seen anything destined for Tyne yet.

GTR is a little different to an A4 !!!! Especially in running cost.

I was looking at the Ford RS but the combination of a drop back in quality and 11 month wait meant I kept the A5 order progressing.
I've been without my A4 since easter whilst waiting for the A5.

Yeah running costs don't bother me, so a GTR wouldn't be bad!

The thing is the ships from the port are not solely for VAG cars. They are for ALL cars from Germany and there is around a 3 week wait at the port. Add that to the days transportation and 2 weeks roughly in port in the UK then transport to the dealership and prep, then that's at least a month!!

I can't imagine Audi or any roll-on roll-off'able product manufacturer would tolerate stock sat idle for upto 5 weeks, especially as a vast quantity have only had a deposit paid on it. They want full payment ASAP.

If using dockyards meant stock was sat for so long I am sure road hauling it via the Chunnel would be a more cost effective option.

You just need to look at how long other owners have had to wait for their car when during the transportation period! It's not great! The fact my car left the factory then didn't move for 10 days says it all!!

I got my car last week, was sitting at the port in Emdem for about 5 days then took about 4 days to reach the dealer once it had left Germany. Not convinced there is a three week backlog in Germany right now given that, and mine was only in a uk port for two days.

...and those 2 days were a weekend.

Well my car has sat around for 13 days and it's still not on a ship!
Like I say, it left the factory on the 5th and didn't move until the 13th!!

YourAudi has not updated since the 5th and still shows the car has left Ingolstadt.

API has updated and shows 'Status 38'!

I haven't seen anybody post that status before so I have no idea what it means!

Any ideas?

I am pretty sure 38 is on the boat. This status disappears from the tracker though weirdly, once it moves to 40, in the uk.

I really hope so mate as I'm getting very impatient now!

I've given up checking on YourAudi as has showed 'left Ingolstadt' since 5th and isn't showing that it's on the boat!

Pretty sure 38 is at Emden, 39 is on ship and 40 is at port of arrival.
You should see the car before the end of the month and it will be worth the wait.

I don't think I would buy a GTR though, epic for a short time but not a car you could live with, an R8 would be far better.

I think that status 38 is that the car has been assigned to a boat.
status 39 is "on the boat" and status 40 is "in the UK"

I wish that I had ignored the tracker personally as it just wound me up. When my car was ordered in Feb and assigned build week 15, my dealer told me I should have it by the first week of May and that's how it turned out. I have heard of cars sitting at Emden for weeks but I think that in those cases the UK side of things should get prioritised.

All I can say is it best be on a boat and not sitting any longer in the Port! That's 13 days now!!

It's completely spoiled my whole excitement of getting my first ever brand new car! Now I'm just angry and frustrated!

Scottish, speak to your dealer , tell them how angry and frustrated it's making you. They told you 2-3 months and your looking at 6 months. They should be trying to keep you happy now, there should be some sweeteners or freebies due to you for the inconvenience.

Just had a call from a number in Germany. I thought 'here we go another scam' so I didn't answer. I googled the number and its Audi Germany in Ingolstadt!! This doesn't sound good!!!!

I realise it's difficult, given your situation but think positive, maybe they are reading this thread and are calling to reassure you that all is under control and your car is on it's way.....

That I very much doubt!! Hopefully phoning to explain why it's taken 13 days for my car to get from the factory to the port!!!:rage::rage::rage:

Mines been code 38 for a couple of days.
As said above I think this means it's assigned to a boat.
The African Highway has just docked in Sheerness after being anchored off the cost of Margate for about a day ??
Gran Caneria is loading in Emden but not sure of destination. It came in from Sheerness.

Well another ship is on its way to Grimsby....... and again without my car!!! :rage::rage::rage:
Today is D Day! If there is no movement on my car, then I'm cancelling the order! It's beyond a joke now!

Well after giving the dealership a stay of execution for a few days, TODAY is D-Day!

So far the dealership haven't got back to me despite numerous calls!

It seems nobody, Audi UK nor the dealership can give me an answer as to why my car has been repeatedly left at the port and not loaded onto any ships!!

So far it at least 7 ships (including 2 on Thursday!!!) have left for Grimsby since my car has been in the port.

Coupled with the ridiculous build waiting time I have had to wait (far longer than anybody else I have heard), enough is enough.

When my A3 was delayed the salesperson was so apologetic that they gave me a Q3 to drive around in, hated it, then the previous model A4 Avant, also hated it...

The dealership have begged me to wait until tomorrow until they speak to Audi UK.

The thing is, I fear something has happened to the car and they are stalling so they can fix it.

Heard anything today? Hopefully some sort of gesture or date from them....
