Hi all
2nd post here. Last year I bought a b8 avant from a local audi dealer, which I'm absolutely in love with.

Been in company cars for 6 years or so which was great whilst working for Mercedes but now at Land Rover and the evoque just isn't me at all!

My cars only a little 2.0 tdi (143) but I have plans for her. Had the wheels powder coated so they look brand spanking new, fitted 20mm rear and 15mm front spacers, and just Wednesday had it remapped to 180-185bhp (allegedly) feels great to drive and power delivery is so much stronger.

Also on the advice of some people via my previous post, I sorted a few bits via carista. Needle sweep, cornering lights, dipping reverse mirror etc so thanks again for that!

Next on my list is lowering 30-35mm, rs4 style grille and an interior bulb upgrade.

Great forum, looking forward to getting more involved!

John

Nice car mate. Where did you get the spacers for the wheels? I done the interior light upgrade last week well worth it.

Just off ebay. Seller on there selling all four as a set including bolts. They are hubcentric, and not a single wheel wobble in sight. I'll try find a link and post it in a sec

Just added the interior bulb upgrade. Seems I have a fairly basic skills line in that it doesn't have vanity lights, glove box light or puddle lights so very quick fitment but looks great!

I don't have the light pack either. I retrofitted the glove box light from @t8ups was easy to install and makes a massive difference.

I'll be getting hold of one of those too in that case haha.

Far too easy to spend money really isn't it!

Haha it is far to easy. I keep finding things to add. Last week I fitted ami. Today I'm installing parking sensors. I think the rs4 front grill won't be far behind

Yep
I'm really tempted to get a dual exit exhaust made up. Like the way it balances out the rear end on the avant too. More coin there so trying to get small cheaper bits done for now and hit the bigger bits when we finally get a summertime!

As I'm not really looking for any further performance increase I reckon a trip to powerflow to mirror the twin pipes on my car already just on the opposite side. Probably not a great deal of money to chuck a fork in the existing pipework and just put a pair of tailpipes on the end. Wouldn't need a rear silencer ex really

So probably quad pipes 2 on each side

Sorry that's what I meant. The s4 has the same tips as yours but on both sides.

Thanks mate. Sure I will at some point. Half tempted to get led rear light clusters but a lot of complaints of individual leds failing is putting me off a bit

I've got the led rear clusters on mine but they came with the car. It's 7 years old and still going strong. When they do start failing euros do the oem Valeo replacements which are a lot cheaper.

I'll maybe keep that for a later date in that case. Loads of other bits I'd rather do first I think anyway

So Just fitted a set of ice white h11 foglight bulbs.

They now match the headlights etc rather than the yellowey tinge they have from the factory!

Much happier with them.

Going to start a build thread from this point on, in the correct place.

Welcome John! Glad your enjoying your B8.

I would say an RS4 Grille is a must. Transforms the front of the car.

Been a bit torn about the front grille over the last few days. Not sure it will make enough of a difference to justify the expense? Thoughts?

And whilst on that if I do rs4 the grille do I go for black surrounding d or stick with chrome? I'm thinking chrome initially as it contrasts nicely with the lava grey paintwork.

Just debadged the rear. Just the a4 and 2.0 tdi bits. Looks much sleeker, and also had a response from an exhaust place about sorting a quad exit s4 style exhaust. Purely for the looks. Haha

Matt black plastidip to the fog light surrounds today. Quite like it. Maybe I will go black surround on the rs4 grille!

Now whilst waiting for a takeaway meal to cook, I've just ordered the rs4 grille from ebay. Black surround with chrome badges. Should be a challenge to see how much I can do to the car before she notices lol

Looking reasonably clean and the weather was nice today so decided to find a quiet spot and take a snap

So,

Postman has been today and dropped off a couple of small packages for me!

One is the glovebox light retrofit kit,

The other is some caliper paint! Needless to say I'm going my favourite colour, green!

Hopefully goes ok on the car as it's a bit bright but should work ok against the lava grey!

Wont be done until next weekend though as Sunday is the little girls 1st birthday!
Can't do car stuff then really can I!

Whilst writing this post I have had a text from DPD. Another package tomorrow!
