Hi guys, long time lurker on the site so let me introduce myself, I’m Sean from Ireland and here is my 2005 Audi A4 2.0T FSI Quattro in Pearlescent Phantom Black.

So here goes, I bought it a few months ago for a steal price and I’m extremely happy with it.

I’d sold my MK5 GTI which I owned for nearly two years I decided it was time to let her go and focus on another project. The Golf was by far the best car I’ve ever owned, extremely comfortable and reliable, looked amazing and it turned heads everywhere, it was eventually sold to the first viewer! The car never gave me an ounce of trouble, it will surely be missed! So onto the next one…

So I found this gem, couldn’t argue with the price and spec of the car. It’s a 2005 Audi A4 2.0T FSI Quattro in Pearlescent Phantom Black, car is very well looked after and really clean for its age. The paintwork needs a bit of love and there is a pretty bad scuff on the passenger side which will need treating as it’s down to the bare metal. Comes very well spec’d with factory Xenon’s, auto wipers and amazing quality interior and speakers. Extremely happy with it!

So here it is, my new Audi B7 A4 2.0T FSI Quattro in LZ9Y Pearlescent Phantom Black,

The Basics:

- 4 Wheel Drive Permanent Quattro,
- 4DR Saloon,
- 72k Miles,
- Full Service History,

The Spec:

Visibility Pack:

- Xenon lights with Heated Washers,
- Adaptive Headlights,

Interior Light Pack:

- Entry/exit door lights,
- Make-up mirrors,
- Background lighting for centre console,

Other:

- Multifunction Steering Wheel,
- Centre Armrest,
- Dual Climate Control,
- Electric Front Seats with Lumbar Support,
- Auto Lights,
- Auto Wipers,
- Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror,
- Twin Exit Exhausts,
- Interior Light Pack,
- Audi Concert II Radio,
- Full colour DIS,
- Split Folding Rear Seats,
- Aluminium Window Trims,

Overall very happy with the car and have big plans. First thing I done was fit my 19’ OEM Speedlines which I had kept after I sold my Golf, best OEM wheel out there and suits this car down to the ground.

Next thing I done was get a boot lip spoiler, Primed and sprayed it myself which came out well but since then the paint has cracked and doesn’t really fit too well so I’ll be taking it off and getting a Carbon DTM spoiler instead.

With the weather being so **** I haven’t been able to do much to the car but have been collecting loads of parts which are basically just sitting in my room ready to be fitted. I’m waiting for a good spell of weather before I start anything.

Picked up a good few goodies the last couple of weeks. First was a Carbon dipped RS4 honeycomb mesh grill, can’t wait to throw this on it’ll completely transform the front of the car. I plan on de-chroming the car anyway as it looks terrible, going to go all black edition.

Next was a GFB DV+ which I’m going to put on soon to go with my remap, I’ve been booked in and I’ll be going in the next few weeks, fitted my new K&N panel filter as well so should make some decent figures.

To finish off the front end I picked up a Cupra R lip from the stealers which make a massive difference to the front of these, also some LED fog lights to match my Xenon’s.

And the best of all I’ve left till last, picked these up from a dealer a couple of weeks ago and they are in fantastic condition, brand new out of the box, a set of Recaro CS Buckets in Leather & Faux Suede. These are by far the nicest upgrade, very excited to get them fitted. They came with runners but I’d imagine that they will need some small modifying. I have ordered some resistors from Germany as my current seats are electric and do have airbags.

Car is also booked in for some paintwork in the next few weeks. Few panels and touch ups to get her in decent show condition. The speedlines could do with a good clean so I’m going to take them off and gonna give them a good clean and re-polish the lips. Have my eye on another set of wheels which I’ll use in the meantime. After that It’ll be suspension, a set of AP fully adjustable coilovers will be on the way soon to give the car some good lows.

I’ll update with more pictures when I get started. I have a busy few weeks ahead of me before she’s ready for Dubshed. Roll on show season.

Cheers for the comments fella's, been through some changes the last week.

Picked up a DTM spoiler the other week to replace my boot lip one, paint has cracked on it and it looks cheap as F! Just waiting to get my new one carbon dipped them I'll get it fitted.

Also got myself a set of fully adjustable AP coilovers and got them fitted last week, made a massive difference to the car. Extremely comfortable and can also go quite low.

The car got an oil and filter service done as well as new pads all round. Because of this it pushed my front calliper's out by about 3/4mm so had to put my 20mm spacers on just to get me home! Went and got myself a set of 10mm spacers for the front and threw the 20's on the back. The stance is just perfect on the car now, I'm proper delighted with how it turned out. I'll update with some better pictures when I get a chance.

Hi mate
Are your wheels et48 8.5x19?
Did you fit them without spacers

Hi mate

Yeah you're bang on mate they sure are. Originally I didn't have to put them on but since I changed my pads I had to put on spacers just to clear the calliper's. 10mm on the front and 20mm on the rear to give it good clearance and give it a nice stance.

Same situation as me then
Just had new disc and pads put on
Just tried fitting same wheels as you on yesterday and back of spoke is touching calliper :(
Don't want to put spacers on

I feel your pain pal, I like the way it is with spacers now though would have put them on anyway. Why don't you want to run spacers?

Not sure why I don't want to run spacers
If I do would 15mm be ok?and would I need hubcentric?
Sorry about all the question mate

It's no bother man! 15mm would be just fine, do you have to put spacers on all round? The arches are quite wide on the A4 anyway so there's plenty of clearance if you decide to go ahead with it!

Took a quick snap today with how the car it is now. Sitting just right on the AP coils with spacers all round.

Got my S4 door blades in the post today after waiting four weeks!! Test fitted them and to my surprise they don't bleedin fit! They are replicas made of fibre glass but I thought they would have at least fitted the thing.. I'm raging as I was hoping to have them painted and on for next week. They came all the way from Poland and I'll have to pay to return them. Anyone ever cut fibre glass before, is it easy or not worth my while modifying to fit?

Car looks very well, those wheels really suit it.

Is the spoiler a aftermarket one?

Cheers dude. Yeah it's just a simple boot lip spoiler, cheap as F and the quality is terrible. I've gotten a DTM spoiler which I need to get carbon fibre dipped in place of it. Should hopefully have it swapped over next week.

Seeing as Dubshed is coming up next week this weekend was a busy one. Got to work on fitting the Recaro's..

Got a lot of help of one of the lads on E38, he has a B7 Avant with the same seats and he provided me with all the dimensions and information to make up the frame. Credit goes to him because all the info was spot on!

Cool. Is it this one:

Those seats looking amazing mate, congrats on getting them fitted.

That's the one buddy! I have that one on the car now, better than no spoiler but the quality isn't great. I bought a replica DTM one and the quality is very good, came directly from Germany.

Quick snap I took yesterday, looks menacing!

Another photo I took on the weekend. Car is bad need of a good detail, leaving it in with a friend on Friday to get fully machine polished and detailed. Looking forward to seeing the results..

Another photo I got sent, really unsure about the Cupra splitter, seems to sit under the bumper as apposed to sticking out from it, everyone else like this?

It seems to sit really well with the S-Line bumper, mines only an SE and it looks kack being honest :( if I was to go down th S-Line bumper route I'd have to get a new grill to fit it!

What's people's thoughts on the DTM bumpers? I love the look of them but they don't seem to come up for sale too often.

Amazing thus far Sean!

Love a modded B7 Saloon.

DTM front bumpers are in my opinion stunning especially with home made RS front grill.

Correct, they are ridiculously rare and if I were you, i would search just about every Ebay in the world to see if they have these.

Dan.

Yeah I love the look of them and think they would go very well with how my car is set up now. I've been having a trawl around eBay and online but from what I've found most are replica fibre glass and I wouldn't waste my money with that crap! Anyone maybe thinking of parting with theirs soon?

I have one that maybe coming up for sale, not in pristine condition and will need a crack repair, just need to find something else before I part with it.
and yes its complete with carbon splitter and the oem mesh vent covers etc.

Yes I think Ebay is your best bet. Also, ask 'Hades' on here, he used to sort people out with OEM front DTM splitters. He is super knowledgeable too.

If Quattro GmbH is selling..grab it Sean! They are crazy rare as you know :)

Thanks for that dude, I'll be sure to get onto him if I get one with missing parts! Yeah been all over eBay Germany & UK with no results! Absolutely love the look of them! Oh yes I do, shame they are such a pain to find though. Was tempted by replicas but after reading some of the horror stories I won't be touching them hahaha

yep, got your pm, there are also 3 on ebay at the moment mate aswell, 2 in Germany and 1 in france, not as complete as mine and certainly none of the 3 are cheap either....

Awesome rolling shots Sean. So sweet.

No probs for the info.

You'll get a front DTM soon im sure. Patience is key haha.

Yes, ive heard some bad stuff about Fibre Glass bumpers too!
