200gb SD card works..

Got a 200gb micro SD card to work in MMI... Mac formatted exfat (too big for Fat32) and threw on 110gb of music. Amazingly it works. Multiple levels of folders and album art. So much for 32gb max. FYI mine is the MMI low in the US (no Audi connect or nav) and the one SD card slot. Had this running for 2 weeks now and no issues. Bought the SD card for my phone but before throwing it in the phone, I thought I'd try it in MMI with just a few folders and songs on it - it worked and so I dumped everything on it. Now I need a new SD card for the phone :/

Somehow - not sure how, but I managed 18,138 total files :/ maybe because it was formatted exFAT instead of FAT32, but that said, our cars apparently can't read anything but FAT32. Unless that's the official line..

try finding, reading and playing the files in folders alphabetically at the end ie Z.

I thought I had nailed it with a 256GB SD Card, with 17K files, but when I tried to read, or access songs in a playlist at the end of the folder list, they were greyed out, and not found, most I could get was a combined total of 12246 folders/file entries

The brochure has always published support for 2 x 2TB SDXC cards in Tech Pack.


And we've had several users already successfully using 128GB cards.
