Hello,:rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage::rage:

So i am VERY upset as my passenger seat now has blue dye all over it. I gave it a wipe with just water on a micro cloth and some has come off onto the cloth but the seats are still very much blue!

Any help on this? I did get the life shine from Audi and wondered if somewhere i am covered for this? Also i did get a leather care balm in my pack but would of thought that is for caring for the seats not cleaning them as such.

Cant believe this has happened! Had the car 4 days and only been in 3 times! Guess when its clean ill have to have seat covers on... Just what i needed on super sports :disrelieved:

Thanks.

Get dr leather wipes and some gtechniq L1 to seal it once it's clean. Or nip see a local detailer will only take them 15-30 mins to sort out and protect but doubt you can stop it totally. With a good sealant on tho it should clean off easy the L1 is pretty cheap.

Have a look in the detailing section.

Try using a pencil eraser, worked for me on my ivory leather
Just take your time and don't be too vigorous

I had a 5 (58) plate with silver seats and loved them BUT pain to keep clean. Used to carry leather cleaner and cloth in car... NEVER again!

Unfortunately the Life Shine ain't worth the paper it's written on. Another dealer rip off.
As above, Gtechniq L1 will protect. Or, change your make of jeans. I've had leather plenty times and never had blue dye come off jeans into them.

Dr Leather wipes are great for it.
Get decent leather protection though.

Try Furniture Clinic kit or the Gliptone Kit...or if you want the mega expensive Swiss wax kit. they 3 are the best on the market

About to give it a clean. Its my not jeans its hers! She get cheap ones for work... She has already been told off!

Ive got some leather cleaner here now that ill give ago.

I understand i won't stop dirt 100% but its too new :tearsofjoy: I want it atlas a week before it got dirty lol.

Tried gliptone on mine, as I always do but did not shift it!
It was the eraser that did.
Plus it was my £120 dark dark diesel jeans that transferred onto mine.
Dye is Dye at the end of the day

Well I've been out and got myself the autoglym leather cleaner from halfords and its done the job well i think. Don't have time to use a sealant as I've got to go out now but I'm talking a towel with me so she can sit on that while i get her.

Guess my jeans don't do it as they are as old as the hills lol.

I did think about seat covers but i got the super sports as i love how they look and it would be pointless getting covers for them! Ill have to keep an eye on it and clean then a lot. Didn't think they would be this hard to keep.

This happened a lot with my S3 but always came off with a bit of autoglym leather conditioner or leather wet wipes so kept some handy. Have lunar ss on the RS3 too so keeping an eye on these

I had to bin a brown leather belt when i got my RS3. After 3 days li noticed it leaving a mark on the leather. No blue staining yet, but i know its going to happen at some point! Will have to give the AutoGlym stuff a go! These seats look great but im constantly worried they are going to get marked! Well worth the heartache though! :D

@Eigdoog - Once you've got the current problem sorted you could always protect them from future transfer with Dr.Leather Dye Block

Leather furniture wipes then a good leather protector, don't let that passenger in your car again unless they take their jeans off...............

FF and Georges jeans don't mark the seats. Can't go wrong at about £6 a pair.
