Just purchased my RS4 B7... Supercharger Conversion build thread.

I don't think I've ever seen mugello with black optics... it looks amazing.
Thanks mate, ive got to be honest, ive never seen another mugello Rs4 with black optics. Seem to be few and far between

You know if you need another test rs4 mate mine is always available. Just ask eibach they had it for weeks lol

First time ive been able to get on my app for over a week, sorry for any late response.
Ive been looking into twin turbo options for this and its looking like a 20k conversion. Which is steep especially when i only paid that for the car.
Im still going to get it on a ramp with my fabricator and see if we can come up with anything. Its worth looking into.
Im still set on a supercharger, i just want to make sure ive exhausted every option first. :)

You'll be happy to know Craig I'm back in love. Pulled it in the workshop the other day and took this. I need cheap ideas now I'm bored and skint haha

Good stuff mate, glad youve found the love for it again, it was close to being mine at one point. Im debating wether to just leave mine a it is seens i like it so much lol.
Thinking about buying an S4 b5 saloon and doing an Rs4 wide arch conversion as well as keeping the B7.
I just dont want to spoil my car and make it unreliable.... so im in 2 minds at the momment.

I know what you mean. I'd like to play with mine a little bit not do too much. We will have to share some ideas :)

Yeah definitely. I need to make my mind up fast though. I dont want to end up spending my life under the bonnet like i did with the A4. Plus 435bhp is enough really.

I couldnt wait any longer so last week i gave her a polish. I may regret it when i come to painting it but i couldnt look at the unprotected paint any longer....

No heard of any issues with the JHM SC and can only think it will enhance the car. You're A4 was all custom and in the unknown. With the JHM kit you know it been tested to the limit.

in regards to the b5 RS4 conversion based on the S4 it will be a engine out job for most things but a b5 with a VR6 lump and turbo could be a better option with loads of space to work on?

And if you really want to do the RS4 body conversion have a look at my old car I documented it quite well and was the first UK Road going conversion.

The jhm charger is still an option, im just trying to find a happy medium between race car and every day does what it says on the tin car, if that makes sense.

Just at work so ill have a good read of your thread tonight

Evening people, i havent been on here for a while for the reason that business has been hectik and ive been busy painting the RS4...

Cheers mate, i could look after you on price no problem, couldnt do it for free as an advertisement due to the cost and time involved. I was pushing it by turning it round in 20 hours mate tbh, week minimum usually. By all means ill look after you :)

Craig well done mate that looks stunning
docurley last full respray i had cost me £2000

Cheers mate, your not far off with £2k really. With the strip and refit there can be a day alone. Theres load of places that will do a re spray for half what i would charge, but i would be conscious of the quality. Also for that price i would imagine everything would be masked as apose to removed.

****** good turn around in less than 20 hours. My step dad used to run a body shop and stripping/refitting bored me to tears. Especially when you find a random screw at the end lol.

Morning , what i should have said was that was 20 yrs ago, Rover 827 Vitesse 5 dr British Racing Green all de-baged not bare metal but everything removed it did have a new back quarter panel and rear door had the arches re-worked for bigger wider wheels and it looked stunning when it was finished, the car had been to Moto-build in London, 4'' off floor new uprated inj & induction kit full stainless and 19'' Momo wheels, good for

Thats a good price for that amount of work mate. Bet it looked well!
But like you say 20 years ago, i bet that same job would be in the region of £4k in this day and age. But i bet it was a nice project :)

cheers mat it was & yep easy 4k today, it was good drive to Moto-build but was an even better :racer: home :sm4: you could hear it before you saw me but it was a pleasant sound the exhaust was a work of art with the car being so low
One of the big problems i had was when they started putting speed bumps in nightmare & i remember trying to get out a multi story car park and getting stuck :flushed::anguished: it was like something off that top gear program where they couldn't get out a car park..

i was past your place last week next time i'm up that way i will pop in and say hi, your car is just stunning :hubbahubba:

Good effort - makes me tired just watching your youtube clip!

Nothing more devastating than finding a rogue screw lol

Stunning car. The wheels are spot on too. Suit the car so well.

Locked on to see how this goes.

Was a fan of the supercharge route as soon as I watched the 'smoking tire' on youtube where Matt Farah blasts the Imola yellow RS4 Supercharged beast round the track.

Good luck

Its been a while since my last confession

So here iam, we went over to unicorn motor developments last week and restored a very slow RS4 from 299bhp to 402bhp and 336lbft. This was all after a carbon clean, full milltek decat non res system and after solving a series of vac leaks we're back to nearly what it should be. (Although we know most stock RS4s are struggling for 380bhp let alone the 414bhp claimed.
Anyway, while we were over there, we fired mine onto the dyno for a power run. Its been 2 years since its last carbon clean and stage 2 software. It run 402bhp and 334lbft from the claimed 429bhp (435ps) 340lbft. So im not too dissapointed as it shows that its still doing things properly.
Because we could bk2bk 2 Rs4s on the dyno we managed to log air flow and the silver Rs with the recent carbon clean showed ver nice air flow, where as im mine was up and down, in return pulling 7 degreees of timing.

So ive ordered some Jhm inlet manifold spacers, gonna perform another carbon clean at the same time, then run some logs to see if the air flow and timing pull has been cured, then back over for another run.

Im still toying with supercharger or twin turbo, but im still enjoying learning the RS4 and how it relys so much on its complicated vac system for power.
If you have a vac leak or even an upraded air filter and havent taken the steps to code out the solenoid for the power flap, it will not advance the timing @5k(safety feature for the engine)in return, no power and no 2nd kick @ 5k.

Any way, heres some vids

Hi Craig how u doing ,can't watch vids

What's this about coding out flap mate?

Ok guys, after the dyno results i decided to whip the inlet manifold off and get the walnut blaster out.
I was very suprised to see how black the valves were considering it was only 2 years since the last carbon clean.

So i cracked on, managed to turn the full job round in 4 hours including the carbon clean, amazing what you can do when you wana get home lol.

After the decoke

Then also while i was in there i slipped in a pair of jhm spacers like ya do lol

So anyway the results are...

No longer pulling 7 degrees of timing and now running at 170g/s of air instead of the 160g/s it was pulling on the dyno.
Also spoke to mrc who said the car was doing 169g/s of air when they originally tuned it and it made 429bhp 435ps so i think weve nailed it. I did a 4th gear run to get the 170g/s and all i can say is it just keeps on going. Not to mention the mid range torque from the spacers.
Remember we can install the jhm spacers along with a carbon clean so get intouch

You have to remove them mate, then code them out so the car doesnt expect them to be there. Otherwise it brings up a fault
