Sheridan's S3

what do you mean by show me?
for stage 2+ you need:
turbo back exhaust (actually it's the downpipe that's required) - milltek, bcs...
cold air intake - revo, itg, mtc, forge...
high pressure fuel pump - autotech internals, apr, loba, hpa....
and a remap
optional:
rs4 fuel pressure regulator
intercooler

Apologies if I didn't explain myself exactly.
I know what components I need like you've listed, but what I don't really understand is exactly which exhaust bits I would need for it.
I.e I was after a link for exact setup that I could then simply order in the near future. Preferably millitek.

Cheers

Been very quiet on here recently and manly mooching around. Since my last progress post somewhat has changed.
The car has needed a clutch for a while, therefore a SACHS clutch was fitted after my holiday in Septmeber.
I have also been suffering with a missfire on idle for about 5 months. That was finally fixed by replacing the inlet diaphragm After alot of other parts being fitted beforehand like boost solenoid. :sadlike: (Luckily fixed on my warranty)

Then came my MOT everything was golden apart from finding my car had a cracked coilsrping. God knows how long its been like that for:scared2:
I had a service at the same time, all parts supplied by @mjr901 :salute:

Now the cars running sweet i've had a spare few ££ which has allowed me to buy a few goodies.
Again BIG thanks to @mjr901 901 for supplying the TTS engine covers and the extremley rare screws required :witless:

I've now had the revo fitted along with a few other bits, thanks to a mate !

I really rate the REVO CAI, Fitting wasnt bad, but a little fiddly. Ive had it on for a few hundrerd miles. Has a real nice sound to it, has a bit of chatter from time to time :witless: I will get out over christmas with my go pro and get a decent video.
I am also planning on fitting the forge DV over christmas :)

Early next year i plan on getting my diffuser warped gloss black, heres a cheeky mock up :)

And in the meantime im on the lookout for a non res turboback exhaust.
Im either after a millitek or BCS system. Just see what pops up on the used market !

Thanks for reading !

Little mod this evening.
I could justify the cost or the potential risk of the Auto OSIR footrest not fitting.
So i bought this one off eBay for no more then 12quid. It requires a little DIY to get it to fit. but not a bad result,
May look at getting some smaller headed screws on there before long.

I managed to grab these 18" BBS Audi speedlines yesterday for an absoloute steal. They will need a refurb mind. But still these were extremley cheap, ive seen them go for double what i paid !

This is nice I wanna do the same but can't find the part number. Do you have it?

Also how much would you pay for a turbo back exhaust ie miltek

I don't have the part number but I have a link on eBay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/261873740122

If you mail the guy and ask him to sell it through PayPal alone without eBay fees he'll sort you out ! Plus it was shipped from Hungary earlier this week and landed with me the following day through UPS.

It's a pig to fit and there's a bit of swapping over gaiters involved to make it work. But by all means if your stuck PM me :)
With regards to millitek I don't really know. Depends on condition, res, age etc. If you have one or something drop me a line. I may be interested. But as I've just taken on these wheels I was planning on focusing on them.

Hi Everyone. few changes recently.
Start of January i went to fit my Forge DV to find a lot of parts were missing. A couple of calls to forge and a few quid lighter it's all now plumbed in. I love the sound of it, chatters all the time. unsure of any gain right now. But hopefully will help when it comes to remapping.
Vids of the DV below

While i was at my mates having it fitted. I also had coming home lights activated via VAGCOM. I haven't stopped playing with these since haha (Link below, i can't embed it for some reason)

The last few weeks I've been hunting for a turbo back exhaust. Took a little longer then i thought on the used market for something decent to appear, and a decent helpful seller to go along with it too! I bought it off a forum member on here on thursday and by friday morning while getting ready to go to work, it was here !
Full 3" Milltek Turboback 200 cell sports cat. this should be going on at some point next week.

I will be looking at getting aHPFP next month and then get it booked into R TECH for a stage 2+ Map :)
My wheels are slowly coming along, there in a real state and taking a lot more prep then what we first imagined.

thanks for looking

I need to get a set of these speedlines on mine. Same colour as yours too, wanted a set since i got the car

Yeeeey were twins :D I can't stand the ones that are currently on the car. They look like something off a ST. Can't wait to get the Speedlines on eventually.

So far only one face is fully stripped. These have got some real nasty bits of corroded paint and the shoddy respray they've had in the past is proving hard to strip off. The barrels are pretty much ready I believe

Your S3 is looking mint mate, love those Recaro Wing-back seats, wish mine came with those as I cannot justify spending a couple of grand on them!

Also like the look of the 8V gear knob, tempted to do this myself. How was it changing the gear knob, you said that you had some trouble at first?

Honestly SAVE SAVE SAVE and buy some seats. You wont look back. They really make the car for me.

It was a bit of effort switching ther gear knob over. But i think it was my own fault for perhaps not buying one with the correct gaiter, otherwise it would have been a simple swap. Have a look on the forum. Theres a thread floating about with regard to it.

Had the Milltek fitted a good couple of weeks now. Im over the moon with it. In hindsight im pleased i didnt bother going Powervalve. Im happy with this, the noise when just tootling around is nothing. The noise of the exhaust only really comes in at around 3.5k.

Heres a little vid from the other day ;)

Plans for the next few weeks are take it to Ultimate dubs and make a bit of noise around the streets :racer:
Next few weeks decide on a HPFP and then get it in at R Tech

What did you pay for your exhaust on me if you want.

Thanks there is one on eBay and he wants £800 for it but I said £500

From my experience £500 gets something dog rough. Mine was a nice/lucky find at £650
Year old only covered 8k

You've got to remember these systems cost the best part of £1.2k new

I know yer that's why I offered him that as its all scratched and does not know how old it is but he is saying he wants £700 for it and I don't think it's worth that

Doesn't sound like the one you want then ;) perseverance is key when searching for anything.
I was rather close to jacking it all in and buying new.

To be honest with you, i was only watching my mate do it. From what i recall its very straight forward. There are plenty of guides on VAGOC :)

We followed a guide on their, and with a couple attempts it finally accepted the changes

Speedlines are coming along nicley :)

Hi Everyone ..

Its been a rather long time since i last updated. This is just due got being a bit lazy and new work taking more of my free time.

Lets go back to March, the faces of the wheels arrived back and looked perfect. i offered up some BBS caps and thought it looked a nice contrast.
366DE2CA-218A-4F81-B9C8-9AB4AFD85FF3_zpslgieuwv4.jpg

These were then sent off to a mate who was taking care of the barrels and would eventually build them back up.

In the meantime I started to buy other bits for the car to reach the magic 360BHP I was chasing.
I bought the Autotech HPFP internals from TSR ... i decided against buying the LOBA pump.
@mjr901 supplied a RS4 return valve

I got these both fitted by my local mechanic. Neither were exactly straight forward to fit but none the less sorted eventually.

It was late March at this point and the car was ready for the famous Stage 2+. I started to shop around for quotes on remaps. I had heard great things about R Tech. None the less i shopped around, Revo and APR dealers were all after ludicrous amounts. (around £700)
Where as R tech is a independent mapper and with one of the best reputations out there for half the price. However Nikki would want to replace my Forge DV to a Rev G. I decided to go with R Tech (sods law had the longest wait out of any of the firms i contacted)

I didn't really drive the car very much or at all hard until i was to have the car mapped. As i was informed the car wouldn't run right untill the HPFP was mapped in.

May 4th arrived. This was the big day. I was staying an hour and a half away from Hinckley and I was booked in first thing at 9.30AM.
However i really couldn't sleep haha and woke up at 4am. I couldn't sit around any longer so i went out and did some site seeing not so far from Hinckley to waste time. I'm guessing after this seasons football, everyone knows who Leicester city are :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
DDD3D52F-C2EA-485E-963E-5A04ACD7F5D4_zpsgssj84ir.jpg

Eventually I arrived at R tech and they started working on the car straight away.
A51AD13A-152B-4A11-979A-6B3543B9F858_zps6ekcc3om.jpg

To begin with they struggled to keep the car warm, for some reason the car was cooling down very quickly.
However after 3 hours of tinkering it was done. I'm pleased to now say my cars running .........
AC136AFA-4207-4391-8DD9-C3AC1B3C93E2_zpsmfyrmor1.jpg

So i didn't hit the figure i wanted by 7.7bhp. I won't lie ... I WAS GUTTED.
However i was given several reasons why ...
*There was a mix of 97/99 Ron fuel
*The colipacks needed replacing ..the idle of the car is lumpy
*I was using OEM spark plugs instead of iridium tipped ones.
*The clutch couldn't cope with much more power.

I was also advised id need to run the car on 5w 40 oil and preferably millers Nanodrive

Bringing all this into consideration and giving the car a good drive home, I got over it very quickly hahah :joycat::joycat:

Heres a graph. To my discovery the car wasn't already running a map as i was told when i had bought it, which i was pleased to hear.
D2DB65D0-345E-4FCD-8F9F-770334A89A86_zpseqwypzbi.jpg

You tell me what you think of the graph as i haven't a clue haha

moving on from there i started my new job and was given a company car .., I had no idea what id collect. they told me id probably get a 3 door corsa more then likely. but on the day i started i was pleasantly surprised with a Hyundai i40 1.6TDI. i won't bore you for too long. But for what it is, I'm really impressed with all the mod cons on board and how comfy it is and how much go it has in it for a small diesel engine!

May Bank holiday arrived and the wheels were very close to completion.
6A1F87D4-6929-4615-9B5D-6315F347CBD1_zps2solt36q.jpg

They had taken a VERY long time to clear up the pitting on the dish. however 30 hours worth of graft they were sorted.
Heres a pic robbed from my mates IG
6bc43360-5862-4f2c-8a20-393188926ecf_zpspnc32j1u.png

May day came and it was the day i got the wheels fitted. I decided against the red BBS enters, i felt it was a little bit of a overkill and stuck with the OEM's off my original wheels.
CECF7BE8-D6DB-490C-9BC2-9D3909ACE01D_zpss82qemsf.jpg

personally from this view i think the wheels look a little gash. i haven't really taken any more pictures. However this doesn't do them any justice !! I really need to get some better photos in the light.

I have recently just got round to getting some new plugs and replacing the coil packs with r8 ones for the hell of it swell as getting nano drive oil.

Thats all for now sadly.

Theres not a lot more I'm after doing for the time being.

Just some springs, spacers, black rear diffuser and respray the front bumper.

As always thanks for looking !

I can understand the frustration of not hitting the figure you had in mind but you are still within the realms of stage 2+, the most important thing is the drive-ability and delivery of power which your graph shows and I think you soon found out after driving it home haha.

Bear in mind that the only petrol stations in the UK that currently offer 99ron in their premium fuels are Shell V-Power Nitro+, Tesco Momentum 99 & Costco 99. Interesting to hear that R-Tech say the OEM spark plugs aren't quite fit for the job, there seems to be a big debate regarding this as some swear by using other spark plugs whereas others find the OEM ones do the job just fine. S3Alex is still on OEM plugs at 550bhp, I wonder if Storm Devs will advise him otherwise now though as they told leshkin that the R8 spark plugs NGK PFR7W-TG (5592) are better.

Given that you now run 99ron fuel, 5W40 Millers CFS Nanodrive oil, iridium spark plugs & new coilpacks have you been back to R-Tech since to see what she's now making?

In post 83 you said that you had a new Sachs clutch fitted in September 2015, was this an OEM replacement or did you go for the uprated Sachs clutch & DMF? It will be interesting to know because R-Tech said your clutch couldn't take much more torque, this means they probably had to dial it down a little which is a big factor as to why you were at the lower end of stage 2+. If it is the uprated Sachs clutch & DMF then that is really bad it can't handle more then 360lbs as it's rated to 400lbs, it's especially odd as S3Alex' one lasted till 440lbs.. Even if you had an OEM replacement clutch then I'm still surprised because it was low mileage being only 8 months old and a couple of others are still on their higher mileage stock OEM clutch at higher stage 2+ figures. It's due to their inconsistency and dislike for drag launches that I wen't for a Spec 2+ clutch & steel SMF as they're bulletproof.

Have you got round to doing any of the other work you mentioned yet?
