Hi all

Been meaning to do this for a while so I can keep track of what I get up to.

Picked up my Avant last February as a Birthday gift from me to me and also my golf was starting to show its age
My Previous

And the Avant soon after I got it home

She's an S-line 2.0TDI 143 in Ibis white with 'almost' every toy from the factory and only 36,000 on the clock

Since then I have done some bits and bob's which I will try and capture through this thread.

Keep your eyes peeled

Cheers all

So as soon as I got her home and given a proper clean I went down to Deep-shine detail in Lincoln to get her booked in for some window tinting and a little bit of wrapping.

After some deliberation I went for 15% tints from the B-pillar back and a gloss black wrap on the front splitter portion on the lower bumper.

I had also previously got hold of some Gel Resin License Plates from fullhousecustoms, they were a bit pricey but imo I think they really look smart. I fitted these at the same time.

I was really pleased with the results, i think it smartened up the overall look no end for minimal effort. Deep shine detail did a great job, I would highly recommend them!!

Nice, lose the badges on the rear and not a fan of that sticker tbh...

Cheers @razza1 tbh I have been thinking the same about the rear badges,. they may come off shortly, watch this space lol.

and as for the stickers, I still like them, not got bored of them yet :grinning:

Looks nice ..mine is phantom black !

Next on the list was to upgrade the LP lights to LEDs. I went for Venom motorsports JOM LEDs, a bit pricey again but from previous experiance they last longer and have much better build quality to anything else I have tried.

I also gave the wheels a proper good clean in preparation for my latest acquisition......

So after spotting them on AS.net classifieds and a long drive down to south wales and back, i had my hands on these :sign yum:

At first I was very tempted to fit as they were, maybe even give em a splash of Hammerite.

But I managed to surpress my urge and got them chemical dipped and respray'd instead

After a good hour of going through every colour chart "Paint Perfect" in Lincoln had, I finally settled on a Renault Metallic Orange from (i think) the 70's lol. Full of sparkle that really pop under bright light :astonished:

While they were in getting painted, it gave me time to get the disc's skimmed, fresh pads and some paint sealant.

Felt like a lifetime waiting to get them back! :whistle2:

Next was to get them fitted

Nice work :)
The caliper colour looks familiar for some reason (no idea why)

Nice motor that but i would take the 2.0tdi bage off the back. Also get some black audi rings and a black A4 badge for the rear. I'd love to get my hands on some S callipers and disks for mine.

Wow I recon that "orange" is going to look great against the white and chrome. The Avants are a cool car in my mind as is and don't need much.

Cheers peeps, appreciate the comments :sign wow:

Seems like these badges of mine havn't got many fans atm. But not to worry folks, plans are a foot.

Anyway's back to these brakes,
after getting the old man to throw in a favour or two he managed to get me a ramp for half a day :friends:

So we set at it and replaced everything one corner at a time, tbh we were on top of each other at times but we made a good team and had the lot done within 4 hours if I remember right. We also managed to get a few photos during the activities, even though my mobile ended up covered in all sorts lol

Cant believe how straight forward it all went, was expecting something to crop up, but thankfully not :glee:

After all four corners were done we changed the brake fluid for fresh and gave them a bleed, wheels on and more photos.

Love the way they fill the wheels, they have actually put me off fitting larger ones atm

So its gentle braking and a couple of long drives for me to get these bedded in

Tbh its a lot less travel and stops a hell of a lot quicker. Especially since ive got them bedded in and doing the brake fluid change, they feel great!!

looking nice mate, keep up the good work

cheers fellas

The next mod came pretty much out of the blue. A friend of a colleague was looking at selling his A4 and asked if I would be interested in his roof bars he had got thrown in with the car from new. Turned out he had never used them and had never intended on using them in the future. so for only 75 quid, I couldn't resist.

A touch of wind whistle at high speeds, but being Audi Bars I think they look spot on!

After the introduction of colour to the brakes, I wanted to try something with the front of the car.

So I got myself a sheet of Laminex off ebay and set to work on the front fogs

Found it quiet tricky to get the perfect shape, but after some rough trims here and there I was happy. Plus once they were fitted with the surrounds that was all hidden.

I also got some yellow bulbs off the bay while i was at it.

Not bad for a first try I thought.

Struggled to get a decent pic with them on at night, but they look great. Just need some fog now :whistle2:

Next on the list was a remap, and after a week of research I had narrowed it down to either Darkside Developments or Shark Performance.

But just as I was trying to decide a little letter from Audi came through the door, and surprise surprise my engine is effected from the recalls :sorry:

So remaps were put on hold until I see what the crack with that is!

In the mean time and after another look around ASN classifieds I came across a DTUK CRD -T+ box. It was for the same engine as mine and the price what almost half that of a brand new one. I had already looked into them previously, and the fact that I could easy remove it or even sell it on once the recalls are sorted made it perfect.

So another road trip and a couple side purchases from Awesome GTI, I set about to work under the bonnet.

The DTUK box was really easy to fit, just two plugs and a couple of cable ties.

To help the DTUK box I got a pipercross panel filter, was quite shocked at how huge the original filter was! :wtf:

and I picked up an R8 oil cap and a 911 coolant cap to make everything look pretty :yum:

Once the bonnet was closed it was time for a drive to figure which map and boost setting I liked the best.

I know everyone says it, but honestly, it was like driving a different car. So much more torque and the mid range pull was awesome.
Eventually I settled on Map 2 -2.

Now to give it some time to see if my MPG goes up or down.

Great little mod for the money, been really impressed so far!

Well since winter seems to be on its way out, I thought it might be time to get some fresh car products and give her a freshen up.

Went for the "tough coat kit" from auto finesse as I've heard it has great results on white cars. The full kit included a clay bar and clay lube, tough prep cleaner, tough coat sealant and applicator pad.

So after a good pre-clean during the day, I set to work after a night shift last week. Took me a good 3 hours, but the results were awesome!!

Both the Tough prep and coat are so easy to use and apply, looking forward to some beading shots to come

Mate your car is stunning. You can't beat a white Audi IMO.

If I can just pick your brains? I've recently bought a white A4 and have been looking around for the best products to use on it. Can I ask you what cleaning products you use and where you got the tough coat kit from?

Keep up the good work on the car mate. Ive found slot of inspiration on this thread.

Atm I'm mostly using autofinesse and whatever old stuff I have that needs using , such as autoglym or meguirs wash n wax etc.

Check out there website http://www.autofinesse.co.uk/

Some things are a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Top stuff imo

Hats off to you mate, car looks epic under our hangar lighting!!

Should try & arrange a night shift & get both the Avants in for a detailing session.

So over the Xmas holidays we had a new arrival in the shape of Baby Jake. And as with any new baby came all the baby gear to go with him i.e pram, cot, baby seat, clothes etc etc.

Due to my work we currently live over 200 miles from our families, so the return journey with the new arrival, myself, wife and dog, xmas presents, babys stuff etc was about to stretch the avants luggage capacity some what!

So I started looking into a roof-box.

Looked into the usuals like thule and exodus but I just couldn't find anything as slimline or as smart as I wanted.

After a few days of searching I popped into the nearest Audi dealership to see what they had, turns out I knew the lad behind the parts counter from school. He said he had an 2015 box that someone had returned due to a spot of damage. Turns out the previous owner was ridiculously fussy as the so called damage was a 15mm scuff to the plastic top. Apart from that it was brand spankers.

Gave it a test fit and haggled some mates rates, job done and I drove away very smug with myself.

Safe to say we got everything back and more with this little beauty on top

Love the car and the updates. I take it the S4 brakes are a straight bolt on then reading what you have said. Thats pretty awesome.

Yeah they are a straight swap, even the original dust shields are big enough for the larger discs.

Nice car mate looks sweet :congratulatory::congratulatory:
Think I need them wheels on my A4
