Apr/revo stage 2 dyno runs

@James 123 what were revo claimed figures? are they far off?
Personally I'm looking for over 365 when i get my stage one, but to avoid disappointment I've decided to go straight to stage 2 and aim for 400!

I thought I was aiming for that!! stage two they claim about 370 to 400 bhp for stage 2 Apr think revo claim similar figures.

Stage 1 I did from last Sat. Some do more, some do less..

My car on Ricks last week, running his map.

Yeh a bit off, they say between 370-401 stage two, which if it Id got I'd obviously be happy with, but two seperate readings 357-363 tells a more realistic story. I suppose it is what it is, at the end of the day I was a little miffed getting low numbers on 2 individual roads..... But then every time I get in my car and put my foot down even for just a couple of seconds it makes me smile without fail, so I can't really complain.

im a c**t so id be contacting revo and stated how far under you are.
there could be software variation / tweaks that have been released but your dealer didn't have it to hand perhaps?or just because I'm an *******, id contact them purely to kick off.

its only natural to expect quoted figures, yes we all have to be aware that its "claimed" and thats how they cover there ****, but being so far under, they need to revise their acclaimed figures!
As said, I'm going to go APR stg2, whilst they quote 400hp / 400ftlb and yes I'm obviously going to say I'm aiming for that, i suggest i have to give a tolerance. but not significant.

i will give it a full, decat miltek, non res, valvetronic system - i like it loud, but keeping the comfort valved closed is handy.
APR intake - although contemplating VWR600 intake as it claims a few more HP! but that carbon fibre is hard to resist!
turbo inlet pipe, there are a few out there so its a case of seeing whats best value for money! the OEM one kinks down far far too much at at the compressor inlet!
then whilst plymouth never really see's more than 10oC i am interested in an intercooler, again its choosing the right ones.

i won't have the map done, until all the hardware has been fitted - give or take the cooler, although, i believe it was @paulk who was saying stage 2 was feeling like it held back, but that feeling went after fitting an uprated cooler. (it could've been someone else)

I've cancelled my stg1 that was booked for Tuesday morning! - i don't regret it, but seeing as i have that extra cash now, its a case of what part am i buying first for hardware!

It's just weird as I have hit 375bhp on awesomes dyno with only a stage 1 flash a year ago?!
Not impressed with these stage 2 offerings from the tuners so far.

Sorry revos estimates are from 369-396 not the above mentioned..... Still a bit off though ha

It's all numbers and Willy waving really.
Yes I am very disappointed with the results as they atre not what I bought in to
Like James says it drives a lot better than standard gives me a smile. would I have paid
The amount I have to get 60 ponies prob not.
Let's wait and see awesome are putting it on there rollers again on sat as last time something was not right with it showing 450lb

so could i take that as going stg2 and paying or the extra hardware a waste of money ?

what are you running now at stage 2 ?

I'm with you Dan - with Revo stage 1, Revo intake and a derestricted turbo inlet pipe I'm looking at a target of 380-385 and stick at that. Going to have to find a local dyno.

Its in my sig, I am presently dynoing less or similar to stage 1 with boost coming on earlier.

I think it's pretty clear that stage 2 min gains over stage 1. Really just brings boost on earlier giving better resposne/low end torque. Obviously intake will give nice induction noise and DP/Exhaust will give better exhaust note. Clearly not worth it at all for performance gains!

I go stage 2 this week but thanks to Dan and others I was fully aware of this before I decided to go stage 2. I'm purely doing it for the better resposnse and exhaust note as stock with soundactor off fairly dosile and also since 95% of my driving in that 1800-3000rpm band I want best response and low end torque.

For most I'd say jsut stage 1 ECU/DSG combo awesome, then probably just modify stock intake (snow grill/high flow panel etc) and maybe change turbo inlet. That's clearly best bang for buck.

When you go to your local Dyno, make sure it is Dyno'd stock first.

If it's making 312bhp stock, then you need to be taking 12bhp off the final figure.

I'd say Stage 2 is worth maybe 10bhp over Stage 1.

Nice. I'd be very happy with that.
I will be going stage 2, knowing that the gains in figures over stage 1 isn't that impressive, but for its drive.
Im Just tossing a coin on an intercooler being worthwhile or not.

Don't think there is a stage 3 running anywhere in the uk?

Think it needs an fmic that and the small elbow on the turbo. but am happy with it.
Managed to get my first launch in it today feel quick!!

you should look at the Peron intercooler mate

I've heard good things about the Peron IC too. Seems that you will need IC and that upgraded inlet pipe that Awesome sells to get around 400hp.

I went stage 2 this week too. I'm happy with the increased throttle response and low end torque, definitley pulls through the revs better too. It's not just about the numbers but how much faster/better the car feels.

Another guy same mods as you this week in Aust stage 2 also, he stated even with MPSS tyres and dry roads breaking traction 1/2 gears at WOT.

I would recommend to contact Peron for a price as you will find its very well priced compared to others in the market

Much better than the forge one for sure. Not really looked at apr's tbh. Dan on this forum has now also bought a Peron intercooler. My car is currently with them for their new 90mm downpipe

I can't find a great amount on peron fmic, more so their ford stuff. Just not for the s3.

Whilst I want to go stage 2 and do it right, I can't justify the cost of the Apr cooler, although that depends on other prices such as peron.

I personally will avoid forge. They've built a reputation on being shiny from what I can tell over the years.
