A4 B8 Brake sizes?

Hi guys!

Completely new to this so please bare with me!!

I have a A4 B8 2.0tdi (143) and currently have the 288mm discs on the front and the 245mm on the rear they are now in need of changing and have the opportunity to buy 314mm front and 300mm rear from a close friend (opened but not used at all)

Will i bet able to fit these as direct replacment or shall I just stick with the same size?

I am fairly sure the smallest size front brakes on a B8 are 314mm, there isn't a 288mm option. What year is your car is it a B8 ? sounds like a B7 to me.

The PR codes on the build sticker will tell you what size the brakes fitted are. 314mm brakes are 1LT or 1LY .
Either way you just can't fit larger discs without sorting the calipers out. This may entail just changing the caliper mounting brackets to space the caliper out further to allow the bigger disc to fit.

Thanks for the reply! your completely right..I didn't measure before it was just through a different website that i thought mine were 288mm, but that's a lesson learnt in being lazy and not measuring them myself! Yea it's 100% B8 2009 plate (pictured)

In that case sorted as you will already have 314mm fronts and 300mm rears. Happy days.
