As title states really just gauging info on what mods can do to break the 400bhp mark or even the smallest detail make car little quicker...iv seen some people using RS4 injectors/coil packs? What's benefit on this...

What stage/power is yours at currently?

You would need all of the mods for Stg2+,i.e
Turbo back exhaust
Uprated HPFP
CAI
And ideally uprated suspension and brakes.

On top of that....
The stock turbo can just about reach that if the timing is pushed, and you run WMI etc etc,and basically wring it's neck.
All in all not a great idea.

Something like a TTE420 hybrid will comfortably reach that, and is something that can easily be fitted.

The stock injectors are maxed out around 400-420bhp and then you have a few alternatives:
Use higher flow S3 pattern injectors such as from Bar-Tek
Increase the HPFP rail pressure(places extra load on the pump, cam follower and cam)
Use RS4 injectors, but these do need specific mapping to avoid smoking.

Coil packs.....waste of time and money unless you need to replace a failed one....mine is still running stock S3 coilpacks at up to 600+bhp.

Hi, To reach 400bhp. you will at first need a bigger turbo than the Stock turbo like a TTE420 or similar. And then you need all the supporting mods like Downpipe/Exhaust,Uppgraded hig pressure fuel pump, uppgraded air intake and RS4(136)/145/155/165bar rail presure valve.

Not really needed but good to have is also a uppgraded intercooler.

To reach 400bhp you dont need larger injectors like RS4 . the S3 inj. will do but will be at max.

If low pressur fuel pump is worn you also need a uppgraded low pressure fuel pump.

Cheers for quick replays guys..my cars still running standard power but looking splurge in new year to performance wise :) just few more quick Q to go on what you've both said,
Do I need do anymore engine work to house the new turbo? Also what is wmi?

Aswel what pressure can the clutch n flywheel take before need replacing? Iv just had both done only couple months ago

With a hybrid, they are essentially bolt-on replacements, and require no further work.

WMI is water/methanol injection......this cools the incoming air after the turbo and intercooler, and thus allows more boost,as well as increasing the effective RON rating of your fuel.
Very useful as you increase power and boost.

The stock clutch is OK for about 330lbs,and tends to give up at around Stg2.

A Sachs organic clutch will take you to around 440lbs with stock feel to the pedal.

You could see around 380bhp on the Standard K04 if you don't want to splash out on the Hybrid Turbo, but tbh... I'd go for the Turbo Upgrade, the S3 is a totally different animal with 420bhp+ :)

The other thing is that the K04 is running out of flow at those figures and both torque and exhaust gas temps suffer as a result.

A bigger turbo makes a huge difference.

Liam iv seen your vid on YouTube...absolute animal !!! What have you done to yours??

My plans in mind are:
Bigger turbo
Wagner intercooler
Forget recirc valve
Revo CAI
Stage 2+ remap
Loba HPFP
What LPFP should look at? Also do I need do get an uprated manifold?

Now what exhaust should I be looking for?
I was intending go down milltek turbo back 3' bore with decat non resonated

Cheers guys

If you spend time looking at Liam's thread or mine you'll get plenty of information but also end up on the road to ruin!

We've both gone down the heavily modified route.
My spec list is pretty long.....

As with anything it depends how much money you wanna Chuck at it , I would suggest going stage 2+ see how you like that then if you want more go for the tte420 or bigger , bare in mind if use the tte420 some tuners can get more out of it than the stock internals can take depending on engine code I believe ? Bhz 440lbs ? Cdl a bit more ? If I'm wrong someone will be along to correct me , I'm at stage 2+ and standard clutch can't handle the torque after about 3K so I've gone for the spec clutch option to leave myself plenty of wiggle room incase a big turbo calls

Loba HPFP is excellent if you want a fully built replacement, and if you have someone who can build it for you,the Autotech internals work very well.
You do not need an uprated manifold for what you have in mind.

Exhaust....Milltek is fine, and served me well for many yrs,but the best currently is the BCS,and they wil be building a custom one for me in the New Year.

Here's a very abbreviated spec list for mine:

Suspension.....kW Clubsport with adjustable topmounts plus Haldex Race controller
Brakes....APRacing
Engine:
ITG intake
Boulekos inlet manifold
Forged engine build
Nortech exhaust manifold
Owen Dev's M-Spec GTX3582 turbo
Syvecs ECU.
AEM Water/meth system.

That lot can turn out over 600bhp on pump fuel, with a stock block,so the engine has plenty to give if you build it right.

Yours is gonna be even more of a sleeper if u get the powervalve and Its as quiet as mine on tickover / off boost

This will be a 90mm system....at least it won't have problems with flow!

90mm from turbo back all the way through or just the downpipe ? Think it's the amg 250 that he does the 90mm downpipe for ,

Downpipe is already sorted from Nortech

This is the rest of the system,as it has a few restrictions, and I'm pretty sure the back box is blown.

Nice can't see nige putting any restrictions in the system top bloke

Thanks Benny, I've got a list as long as my arm haha... There's quite a bit done now!

If you're looking for a LPFP I'd recommend the APR LPFP System, It's been absolutely perfect for my setup but it is pretty expensive...

You won't need an uprated manifold for what you're wanting but you can do that if you like, it will most probably help extract some more ponies :)

I would be wary of the Milltek System for the S3, I had the full system but it caused a restriction around 400bhp because of the backbox area, it just wouldn't flow enough but I'm sure Milltek has revised this with their new systems so just make sure it's not an older system you buy if you go down that route, other than that I'd say go custom but I've also heard some really good things about the BCS systems :)

Need any help with anything drop me a PM!

That's interesting......we never had any problems with mine until now,but it's fair to say that it has been chopped around a bit over the years,so some of that may have improved, and the backbox was replaced FOC when a weld eventually split.

It has reached it's limits now so it's being put out to grass.

With your new exhaust will u have to have your Maps tweaked to account for the extra flow or is the syvecs clever enough to figure it out and self adjust ??

It'll sort itself out.

Yep, everything was fine except the backbox area, tbh it was set up pretty weird... It really restricted flow past 400bhp and I've heard other tuners such as MRC had problems with them also :) Although as I said I'm sure Milltek revised the issue!
