S3 Dashboard Vibration

I keep hearing a vibration sound coming from the dashboard area of my S3 when the car is at low revs.

I'm struggling to locate what is actually vibrating and have tried to find anything that could be loose. The car is 17 months old and I wouldn't expect anything to have come loose that quickly.

Has anyone had this issue or heard of it?

Got the exact same noise coming from the headlight switch! More noticeable in the cold mornings now. As soon as you press that area where the switch is located the noise disappears

Yep. That's the one, cold brings it out!

Haven't yet had time to take it all apart.

Thanks fellas I'll try pressing that area when I hear it again.

What with noisy brakes when reversing due to moisture and vibrations when its cold I'm starting to think this S3 is a summer car lol

i had a few over the dashboard but couldnt pin point them, the worst is by far the light switch which is a constant rattle its in with audi next week to replace the suspension mounts so have asked them to have a look at the rattle so will let you know what the outcome is.

The S3 went for a visit to my local Audi dealer this week for a little list of things including the vibration. The drivers side lower dash was refitted and the vibration has gone. I'm so pleased as it was really annoying me.

The noisy brakes which happened after being parked up and then reversed have been cleaned and I've not heard a peep out of them even after I washed the car. Last week the noise was ridiculously loud after being washed.

The main lights were checked and in the end they said the main beam was slightly high and a guided fault finding check has been carried out.

I got all this done for free despite some of the work not being covered under warranty which is obviously the best bit.

I was very happy until I saw a mobile speed camera van on the side of the road today and I was doing 50 in a 40mph before I hit the brakes. I now have the pain of a week to wait to see if I have been caught or not. I just don't feel the speed in this car.

I have the exact same rattle on my RS3...... Unacceptable that its actually a common issue!

Trust me, I dismantled Virtual Cockpit / lower dash panel out over 10 times. Every time, I foam taped EVERYTHING I could see or felt moving, it was still there. That rattling / metallic sliding noise was really driving me crazy. Especially lower speed over the bumpy road. I was 100% convinced...
