Hi guys,

After some quick advise got some. Bilstein strut and shocks the nut on the top has a plastic insert can you tell me if I ment to remove this in order to fit them to the car?

Trying to upload but keeps saying files to big for the server only 3mb...just a blue little plastic insert on the nut thinking do I use that one or just use the ones on the original strut?

Is there another way to upload pics?

Basically looks like this managed to upload a pic not from the camera

Legend just keep them in as it's like a nut to secure the bolt?

I owe you one lol, still a noob and gonna attempt the brake pad sensor and full suspension change(hope I don't f it up and my strut comes flying out whilst driving)

We all have to start somewhere mate... good luck :)

Thanks! Was unsuccessful got the strurt out easily compressed the springs and forgot there is a bolt holding the top mount in place didn't have an impact gun or anything to loosen the bolt, couldn't find anyway round it so just put it back together. Gonna have to get the garage to do it now...

You can use a huge pair of grips to stop the strutt from spinning and a strong arm on the nut, I've done it before but it's too much hard work and it can damage the strutt. A lot easier with impact gun.

Thanks for letting me know! We tried gripping it with some pliers but like you said defo wasn't easy! Garage said they'd charge me 70 quid for it do you think that's a reasonable Price?

Ye that sounds about right, might get it slightly cheaper if you shopped around. Front shocks on an Audi aren't the easiest.

I'm not very clued up with garages where I live, rang ETS they told me 140 for it which is double the amount! I personally thought they'd be cheaper. Is a vw/audi specialist worth checking with?
