cant locate my puzzle nut despite rtfm!
Have found the jack behind the spare wheel & the toolkit in the rhs cubby hole but no puzzle
Have I not been supplied with one or am I not looking in the right place?

Pretty sure mine lives in the toolkit that's behind the RHS trim panel. Is there an empty pocket in that tool roll that looks like the nut should be there ?

Yes, next to the centre cap hook.
Wonder who's responsible, the dealer or factory?

I'd try the dealer in the first instance they should be able to sort you a replacement from your reg - hope you're not broke down with a flat somewhere ???

Yep just checked mines in that roll.

Thanks for that Rob, fortunately no puncture, just looking fo space to stash stuff & noticed it wasnt in the polystyrene tray like it was on my TT.

It's not in the polystyrene tray, it's in the tool roll in the RHS compartment.

It must differ in the various models as my jack and tool roll are in the polystyrene compartment held in place by adjustable nylon straps attached to the car. I've got a storage compartment at the right hand side but it's empty.

You're not reading before replying veeeight, I checked the toolkit

And you then went on to say ....

So, naturally, one assumed you were expecting it to be in the polystyrene tray ;)

Sorry if this is a stupid question - but what's the puzzle nut? Never heard this term before?

Probably different in Saloon, to HB/SB

^ No probs.

From memory, the locking wheel nut key is kept in a clear pouch on the outside of the tool roll.

So if you unroll the toll roll and look at all the tools inside, you'll not see it, as it's on the outside (reverse) (together with the dust cap removal tool/hook).

So- if you see an empty clear pouch at the top of the tool roll - yours is indeed missing!

Interestingly, mine are not fitted with any theft deterrent bolts though my other VAG cars do.

@veeeight - Unless you drive a S4 then its in the proper place, the polystyrene tray
Must be something to do with the S3's haldex me thinks. Us with 'real' quattro have no such problem :p :D

Exactly, that's the main reason I bought the S3 Saloon, because the tools are in the polystyrene, where they should be

Finally got my "puzzle nut" or "adapter" as its called in the handbook, dealer took the blame for it not being placed in the toolkit & posted it out to me.
I'd have thought cars would leave the factory complete with everything? Are locking wheel bolts dealer fitted at pdi? Any Audi insiders any wiser?
