Does anyone know the part number of this button? Struggling to get a part number.

I know it's all through the MMI on the facelift but would still like the button there.

anyone? new car coming this week and would like to get it ordered.

Darren, have you looked at parts data base in stuck threads

I have, used it before I came a member of the forum and it comes in very handy but not in this instance lol

Just a note, the button in the pic is a left hand drive vehicle, where are you @Darren92 ?

I think he is right on buying this if for rhd or you have to change all the other buttons around, I retro fitted this a few years back for a customer from the a5oc, he supplied parts tho.

When activating ADS without that button it will leave a error in VCDS till that's installed.

Can ADS be activated on a B8.5 SLine?

I think I tried it some months back and it did not work or I could not unlock the MMI.

Could someone post up a link or info on unlocking the MMI and ADS please on a B8.5 please?

Im in the UK and I can get a part number for the LHD button but not the RHD. Its definitely possible (see pic below), just can't find the sodding part number for it!

I'm aware on the MMI 2G models there was a complete part number for the button (long rectangular one).

Think it was the larger butto and it can be had from kufatec with the loom to fit

I tend to stay away from Kufatec if I can as I've had issues with looms not being wired correctly and I have the resources to make my own and I know they're done right :p

I activated ADS on a friends B8.5 yesterday through the MMI as normal but I just want a bit more and have it as OE as possible.

Looking at mine it seems the button is integrated into the panel, I can't believe this bit it might be, does anyone else know?

Yes it seems to come as a button pack, just can't get the rhd equiv with the start/stop button.

Darren.

what buttons are needed for you and I will dig the numbers out?

what is the part number you have for the LHD one?

LHD one with only ADS button is 8K1959673M

What I need is;

" blank - esp - park assist - stop start - blank - drive select " which is the correct layout for rhd cars.

I appreciate your help!

Ideally someone who has it fitted would be a lifesaver by removing their button and see the pn stamped, would save any hassle.

I have a VIN here for a car with the button fitted I can forward if it helps.

Audi & TPS are 50 miles from me and trying to explain what an ADS button is over the phone might prove difficult :p

@Darren92 - Just a thought Darren. Have you tried contacting Mike on the ASN Parts Request system ?

Nice work, @Darren92. How did you identify the part number in the end, and where did you source it?

Ended up going over Etka again and realised what I was looking for was described as something totally different.

Got it from TPS, it was £21 roughly. Only 1 wire needed going to the J519 as the switch already has an illumination and ground feed for the stop start button.

Happy Days Darren, nice work! :)

You have got me interested in adding the button now just to complete the mod! :)

Thanks!

I like doing things correctly and as OEM as possible hence the determination to get the button!

Can you post details on the fitting/wiring including button/trim removal tips and tricks, as the info on AudiEnthusiasts looks like a right ball ache and not worth the bother.

No problem, I will gather info over the weekend and post it up.

That would be great Darren thanks.

I have ADS enabled and selectable via the MMI but adding the button would be good! :)

Hi Darren, I was wondering if you have had a chance to put together a guide for this mod? Thanks

Been busy all week, it's pretty straight forward. Will try and compile something tomorrow.

Not yet as I don't think it needs one? It's all pretty self explanatory bar the one wire going into the J519, no other wires needed as the switch pack already has an illumination feed, ground and power being supplied by the original plug.

Does fitting this switch completely eliminate the ABS coding error that you get when enabling ADS via VCDS.

I still have the ABS coding error after reversing the VCDS ADS settings back to normal and clearing the code.
The error returns each time the ABS module is scanned, either by VCDS or Carista.

How is the blanking switch removed and the new one installed ?

Hi mate, just a slight off topic questions, do you by any chance know the pin outs for this switch?

Basically I have fitted a FL 3g+ to my B8 so the Start/stop button now moves from by the gear stick now to the MMI, however I have not been able to get that going since I dont have the pin outs for either of the switches and I cant find them anywhere!

I also have enabled ADS through the MMI, however I have a problem where by I can only select Auto/Dynamic/Comfort through the 'Select Individual' option and I cant select them through the roundel options as it just wouldn't select.....have you come across any such issues?...I might think of fitting the ADS button if it overcomes this problem!

One wire to connect if your car already has the Stop/Start switch fitted. You need a repair wire 000 979 009E (will need to be extended) and the switch. Insert one end of the repair wire into pin 7 of the existing Start/Stop switch connector, route this down to pin 16 of the grey 32 pin connector on J519 in the driver footwell. Make the required VCDS changes.
