Anyone with VCDS in the Glasgow area able to meet up one weekend and program my car for cruise-control?

I'm thinking of retro-fitting a cruise stalk to my 56 Plate A3 8P1 and would need VCDS to do this. I'm thinking of buying it but would like to have someone that knows how to use the system to show me a quick run through before I purchase?

Thanks

If you're not sorted mate, I'll be in the Glasgow area towards the end of this week.
I have full genuine vcds, I've never programmed cruise before but they're plenty of guides knocking about

Scott, vcds is a diagnostic tool that is used to scan car for faults and is also used for enabling extra functions on the car. ;) x

Ah! A bit like a super dooper code reader? I'm guessing it's not just the VCDS you need to add stuff? Parts etc have to be ordered and enabled?

You don't always need parts to enable some things.

Alot of Audis come with extras that are not enabled at the build stage so can be activated with VCDS. All depends on which car you have but most models you can activate specific things such as hill hold assist, intensify LEDs, Beep on unlock/lock, one click opening of all doors, optical rear parking, video in motion (MMI). There are so many but as said it all depends on what car you have and modules you have. I do this all time to help folk out

Would i need someone to do this too my S3 08 plate if my new RSN-E doesn't work correctly when fitted cheers

For the RNSE to work properly it will need recoded but all depends on what extras the donor vehicle had. Chances of both vehcles having the same are quite high but easily recoded - takes about 15/20 mins to do.
