Hi all finally decided to buy a Scorpion exhaust but confused as hell with what I need. I know I want cat back non res.

Do I need a down pipe? Wanted to avoid losing warranty. Confused.com right now

Hi mate think you should have the resonated valved cat back , this shouldn't effect your warranty , if you do go for the down pipe I'd say sports cat to avoid any dealer issues

I'd also sugest silver tips as I found the vksvk tips seem to blend in too much

I'm selling one, Mine is the latest model with Akrapovic tips.

Downpipe is a bitch to fit, if you just want sound get just the cat back and leave as is.

Good question

I remember seeing on here someone had a hatch with the saloon exhaust on, and it poked out a lot, can be cut down but I'm guessing it won't stretch too easily going the other way

Yes thats right these maybe a bit too short, a exhaust shop shouldn't have any issue extending them out though.

It will be short. The I have the Milltek exhaust and the system for the Sedan and Hatch is exactly the same but the the Sedan system comes with an extender part by the tips. It shouldn't be a problem if you get it done at a proper exhaust shop.

Hi pal - how long does it take/ hard is it to take off downpipe?

A pig of a job that requires dropping a sub frame or axles if I remember correctly.

i;ve read its a propshaft and subframe down job(atleast significantly moved), this is just for removing it, as the access to the turbo / downpipe clamp is easily assessable so unbolting is straight forward.
