RS3 8V Orders List

I'm a technology nut and love decent audio etc. I spec'd the full tech pack with connect and B&O sound in my 8V S3. The connect services are rubbish and you get over the initial excitement quickly. I stopped buying data Sim cards after the first two months as I just wasn't using it. The screen resolution is nice, but the screen cards for audio playback are boring and the same to look at. There are no customisable images for the radio stations, no extended info scrolling etc. So apart from the nice looking Sat Nav maps, there is nothing available to really take advantage of the higher resolution. I hardly use the sat nav and when driving I tend to put the screen down. The big plus point is the B&O speaker system and amp. Very good for a OEM stereo system with decent quality drivers, crossovers and the sub is half decent as well. With the Tech pack you get surround sound capabilities as well, but the novelty again wares off quickly.
Obviously this is just one persons opinion, but having lived with the Tech Pack with Connect in the 8V for nearly a year, I will be giving it a miss if I order the RS3, it's not £1500 well spent in my opinion, and I have spent that once already. I will have the B&O though.

That's an interesting read mate ,
I couldn't justify the £1500 tech pack , only thing i would have liked was the better / larger sat nav view though.
I've gone for the B&O sound, so nice to hear you rate it

Exactly how I felt, so I have not ordered Tech Pack on my RS3. This is one area where Audi seriously fall behind other manufacturers, if it was better, even similar to the VW system then I would have said yes.

Good to know the tech pack ain't worth £1.5k even though I had no intention going for it.

Agree a larger / higher quality screen would be nice but again no biggie.

I've put the screen down on all my test drives and maybe use a tom tom sat nav twice a year.

Well that's put that to bed then, I suppose I'm not missing out on much if that's the case!

I've got the B&O with the non tech pack and if still got a surround option in my sound settings so I'm guessing even that option isn't exclusive to the tech pack?

All brands have failed in their multimedia and navigation systems, none worth what it costs, they have been stuck for many years with expensive and outdated systems. They have finally given up in 2015.

This will be fixed from 2016 with Apple and Google in all cars.

Hope they sort out the security on the systems before they all start connecting together.

I've spent all weekend again with the audi configurator and Google images... Much to the dis belief of the wife.
Tomorrow morning my dealer will be getting a phone call with a completely new code! Decided for Cataluyna red , with infact the aluminium pack not black!
I THINK my decision is final! Haha:friendly wink:

I guess you dis-like the Ali pack?
I think with standard wheels, it works!
Each to the own, ive got a black edition s3 at the moment.
Funny enough my original choice was nardo with all the black accessories, pack wheels ect.
How my mind has changed over the weekend!

Personally for me the aluminium pack looks ok with some colours on the front, but the back diffuser looks a bit pants with it! Still, just my opinion. Everyone is different!! :)

Code 10, original BW 47, current BW 51! Looks like it'll be a January delivery

It was more the wife not liking nardo... The word "chavvy" was used.... As the only way that colour works imo is with black accessories..
I love the sepang, but my current s3 is sprint blue... Still think the red and alu pack works!
We all see things differently, but a nardo rs3 is certainly not chavvy! Ha-ha

ordered mine last week delivery end may/start june
Sepang Blue
Supersports with red stitch
dynamic pack
red brakes
cruise control
Matt Titanium 8J all round.
called today and added Black styling pack too.

Can anyone confirm what the dash inlays are like? carbon or piano black? don't like the ali trims.

Sweet as long as not silver had that in my b7 rs4 and was always gutted first owner changed it from carbon.

Out of interest do other country's get the new style bucket seat seen on some of the original press demo cars?
