LANDSCAPES

My company is small fry in comparison but we are a niche at what we do. Gray Fabrication in Cupar. Specialise in heavy duty rolled cans/tubulars etc. :)

Thank you guys. Very much is a photographers paradise.. hope to head back in the dead of winter for some better aurora shots and then maybe summer time for the opposite scenery. ;-)

Amazing pics Andy,we truly live in a beautiful country. Been trying some night sky shots too but nothing like yours. If you don't mind me asking what settings were you using?

Thank you! For my night time settings.. generally 400/640 iso. Depending on lens anywhere from F1.8 to F4.5. And always 20-30 seconds exposure. (Depending on brightness of night anyway). Oh and a tripod. Lol ;-)

Been experimenting and tinkering with shutter speeds. If I had tripod with me would have slowed it down a bit more...

It varies for me Markos on the weather conditions. I use a Lee big stopper filter and use Bulb mode with a remote release. The image above yours was a 45 second exposure if i remember.
Did you use any filter on your shot?

Shot at about 1/3 of a sec, handheld as it was spur of the moment and no tripod with me,and forgot to swap over the filter.I only have skylight filter at the moment

You probably know Inverness well @Jake 61.
Oh yes, it's a nice city with lots of opportunities for a photographer.
I live in Dingwall, about 15 miles North and more or less, at the foot of Ben Wyvis, the snow capped mountain in your pics.
I have a photo taken from the top further back in the thread.

Nice lad that has the coffee shop, he built it from nothing and he deserves all the good reviews he gets.

One from Tuesday, this time, the infamous Bealach-na-Ba, (Pass of the Cattle), from Loch Kishorn to the village of Applecross on the West coast of Ross-Shire. (Bit of shameless photobombing by the A3).
Bealach na Ba Copy

Third highest mountain pass in the UK at 2054ft. Only beaten by Glenshee and the Lecht and only by 150ft. What a view...!

hi mate. Where exactly is that photo taken from .Is it the A896.

No, the photo was taken from the viewpoint at the summit. You branch off from the A896 at Tornapress, about 5 miles West from Lochcarron.
The Bealach na Ba is not actually classified, although it is a reasonable single track road.
It is one of the most breathtaking views in this country but, it is very steep with very tight hairpins near the summit.
First time I went up was with my Grandfather in his lorry. He made me get out and walk because the bends were so tight and the road was very poor back in the late 60's.

Check it out here.
