PS why are some specing hill hold as the car will just hold on the brake and creep forward when you release won't it?

With the hill hold you won't need to keep your foot on the brake. The car won't creep forward till you accelerate

Do you know if shutting down the factory (I assume the production line itself) affects transport as well? Mine was built this week and I;m wondering if these cars will be destined for transportation just before the holiday?

So after much consideration I've now put a deposit down! The S3 just wasn't special enough to order and I've had enough of waiting, didn't want to wait for the facelift.

Been told late November, how true that is I don't know!

Yes that's what I was told, and because I'm trading in a TT convertible I should get top dollar for it because of the time of year. still to book an appt to sort this out but the lead time suits me. Hopefully if a facelift is due it will be rolled out to the RS3 before it's built

Oh and I only specced hill hold as I want the button on the center console! Don't like looking at blank spaces where buttons should be! Makes me sad!

So far so good with delays in delivery......car ordered late June, BW 36 confirmed shortly after with car scheduled for October delivery. Had e-mail from the dealer today saying they are ahead of schedule and could I take the car in September..........erm, let me think?!?!

Guys, I need to sell my 320d MSport touring before the RS3 arrives in Sept/Oct. it's on PCP but will have to VT in Oct to get out of it as settlement is just north of £20k......would need to do private sale as dealers will only give me £17.5k for it. Anyone aware of someone that might be interested, let me know!!

Dealer has no further info.
Exclusive make that much difference.

So my car left Ingolstadt 3 days ago, at a guess it is now on a carrier as the African Highway left Emden this evening due into Sheerness at 1800hrs Saturday 1st August. Im guessing a week to clear the port and then a few days to transfer to the dealer so should arrive around about the 14th August.

How do you get hold of this shipping info? Ours was already showing as left ingolstadt last Friday so will it be on the African highway too with yours ? How often do the ships cross, and do you know when the last ship into sheerness was from Emden? Cheers!

If you google Marine AIS you can access the info for free. There are apparently a couple of ships a week, African Highway left last night having been in Emden from its return journey for approx 24hrs. (Previous destination Sheerness). If you're in the south of the UK this is most likely the port of entry.

All speculation but it would seem logical that this is the boat based on when it left & when my car left Ingolstadt and its estimated arrival date from the dealer.

So I've finally had some luck with the Sytner group and had my first test drive in the RS3 at Leeds Audi.
Wow, what a machine. The only downside was that this one didn't have the dynamic pack and so the exhaust was really quite even in dynamic mode.
I've changed the spec slightly and removed super sports seats as I don't feel they're worth the £800 now after sitting in them. The salesman was fantastic and did everything he could to get to the figures I wanted and so I've placed an deposit with them.
Wish I had gone to Leeds Audi before placing a deposit with Coventry need to cancel with them on Monday.

OK all baring in mind I placed my order early on the morning of April 16th....I have today received my build week. JUNE 2016!!!!!! Who the **** are they kidding...absolutely ******* disgusted is an understatement.
I'm Gona be stamping my feet soon and someone is Gona get an ear bashing on a regular basis. I just need to find out the best person to annoy.

Sorry to hear that. Social media is a good tool to get noticed. Join Audi groups etc. and twitter etc. a nice post on your dealers social media pages asking awkward questions are also effective, including the owning group.
Who did you order through out of interest?

I don't think my local dealer has a page. And they are doing all they can. I had an embarrassed sales manager on the phone with the bad news today. He suggested Twitter could be my friend. I'm not sure how as I don't have Twitter and I'm not sure how I would get it out there enough for them to take any notice. I have made comments on every post Audi UK have put on Facebook. Trying to be annoying.
Only had a response to my first post asking why people can order a car sell it and order another and still receive a bw in October.
They fobbed me off telling me to contact my dealer

Given the utterly stupid lead times I am going to stick with my 8V S3 and maybe wait for the new RS4 saloon which will probably appear quicker than an order now for an RS3 SB. There might even be a TT RS worth looking at in the time it'll take for an RS3 to appear.

That is nonsense. It would be funny if they have the facelift presented in March and yours will not come until July. You would see facelift models circulating even before having received your pre-facelift.

This is one of the questions I'm asking, also I specced the car with what options were available in April, I presume there will be more soon. So I will be getting an out of date car. Why would they make exclusive an option if it's not available. And why has it taken 4 months to tell me. An option of changing my order to std colour would have been appreciated!
