Sometimes my car pulls like a train turbo boost is high then on some occasions it's not that clever it's blowing my head apart I can't understand why it does this. My car is an sline b7 2ltr tdi anybody else witnessed this? And how did you fix it?
Thanks in advance

Have you had vcds on it to see if boost is being delivered or are you assuming boost is not there always.

First thought of mine would be sticky variable turbo veins or faulty turbo actuator. See if you can get your hands down to check the actuator moves freely.

At least that's where I would start anyway

Come to think of it....

Could be the age old problem of EGR is full of gunk and not operating properly

Well today I was driving in 6th gear doing about 80mph car had some weight in 2 adults and 2 kids I geared down to 5th to overtake and it pulled away but them ifelt the boost/power go and there was nothing so I pulled over turned car off and started it hey presto boost was back.

I'm gonna do a diagnostics on the things you mentioned like you say start there
Thanks mate

Mines does the same. Mate is a vag mechanic said its the veins in the turbo 2hr job out cleaned and bak in again. Common problem. I hope this helps.

Any info helps, I could do it myself but I wanted a guide if it was possible but cheers anyway mate I think I'm gonna clean egr first then the turbo

Did you do the work or ya mate?

No I don't get glow plug light and yes it goes into limp mode but soon as I turn ignition off/on its fine

I had a similar problem, and i had an error:

000665 - Boost Pressure Regulation
P0299 - 006 - Control Range Not Reached - Intermittent

There was a problem with vacuum leak on the inlet manifold vacuum pot (or whatever it is).
There was not enough vacuum to open turbo actuator.

My suggestion is to check vacuum lines and turbo actuator.

Update cleaned egr out and the gunk surprised me, I've rebuilt it and the boost is a lot smoother but it's early days. My next plan is getting turbo off and cleaning that wish me luck.
