A4 B7 List of Affordable Modifications/Upgrades/Retrofits

This is the one I did a while ago, swapped it for the same but in black to match my headliner.
If you are retrofitting you have to solder the ambients as there's no spare spades like the front unit.

Again not sure if this warrants being in here but...
Avant boot liner

This is a "Trav All" boot liner for £50, very impressed with the quality and more to the point, it will keep things nice clean and dry. It's also the only one that I found that has cut outs for the tie down hinges although I haven't cut them out on here it's nice to have the option.

Fitting:- pull old covers of pedals and then curse and swear whilst trying to refit these knew ones. I hear that soaking them in hot water to soften the rubber helps ease the fitting.

Haha Yeh that's how to fit them Steve. Have you fitted them yet? If not, go careful removing the original clutch cover as the actual pedal is plastic and not metal like the other two. you could end up breaking the plastic (trust me)

I'm planning on cutting it off

No more mods, cheap or otherwise for me. In fact, I may be doing some un-modding before I part-ex it. If anyone fancies a set of LED rear light clusters for a B7 saloon, send me a PM.

Do you have a picture of these? I may be interested.

Fitted, not too bad at all about 20 mins to complete

Tired or scratched aluminum trims??

A couple of evenings with a sander then finer grades to remove the fish scale and "brush" the trims. Some clear coat and you'll have a stunning set of trims.

Or if they have some deep scratches or dents, sand, fill, sand, prime, paint and clearcoat if required.

Cheap, easy and if you take your time great results can be had.

Yes start front the front of the doors (they are just clipped in place). The back end of the door trim is held in slightly different to all other clips in that it doesn't pull out (inwards towards the middle of the car) from the door you need to pull it towards the front of the door

cheers mine are looking worse for ware so glad this has popped up
