Hi all,
Now I'm not really an audio man so need help! Want to replace my Audi symphony unit with a double din Sony, went to halfords today (should of gone to a car audio shop I know but as its Sunday none were open) spoke to the audio man at halfords and he couldn't really help that much, he said I will need all these different harness adapters first to wire the stereo then a Sony adaptor and one to make the steering wheel controls work! Someone please help and let me know what I need! Just want a decent head unit! I have the non Bose, half amplified system! Cheers. I'm sure this thread is on the forum at some point but there's so many to go through!

Unfortunately he's right, it's not a simple swap on these cars like you would on a Fiesta. RNS-E is a much better option.

Depends on the functionality he wants.

Fitting harnesses is relatively painless its largely plug n play.

I personally avoid RNS-E like the plague - expensive and limited, plus scum love to steal them. The only good thing about them is the OEM look, which does little for me when compared with some of the recent after-market units out there.

One thing I would say is stick well away from cheap Chinese units like Bazzle posted. Utter utter garbage

Amen to that!

Speaking from experience.

£250 I will never get back. Have however found an address for their UK bloke so I'm heading round there when I'm back in the country.
